Rules of Weapons: You may choose any type of weapon for your character, as long as it isn't futuristic (Nukes, Guns, ect.). I may allow low-tech rifles but what I'm looking for is swords, staffs, and other weapons of the such. You may have kunai, shuriken, even maces, whatever your heart desires, but there is a price.
Each of the weapons you use, you MUST have a rank in, which means you are proficient. The higher rank you have in that weapon the better you can weild it. If you try to use a weapon you aren't proficient in you will only be able to wave it wildly. Therefore if you try to use a weapon you aren't proficient in you lose 3 Strength, 2 Endurance, and 3 Speed while using that weapon. You can still fight, but your stats will go down, and you only lose the stats if you are FIGHTING with the weapon. If you have it in your hands or are using it to solve a puzzle or the like you will not lose the stats.
You may choose whatever you want to be proficient in, but you must post your weapon here, or you may pm me and ask if you can use it and how much Experience points it costs. I will judge how many experience points it costs to become proficient in a certain weapon and then add that weapon to the weapons list below.
Just for reference:
Non-proficiency means you have no clue what you're doing and you're just waiving the weapon around in the air, for guns and arrows that means you will not be able to shoot anything with them.
Proficiency means that you know how to use the weapon, but you aren't anything special. You can be good at using it, but you aren't anything better than an average fighter.
Specialization means that you are very good, you know how to use your weapon very well, but not the best.
1-3 Ranks is Proficiency 4-6 is Specialization 7-9 is Master and Rank 10 is Legendary. Below are the price to get rank 1 in a weapon. Next to the cost is the increment for ranks. So if it says
Thin Blade (Slicing) (Katanas, Thin bladed Swords) [30] <10>
then for rank 1 it's 30, for rank two it's 40 (30 + 10), for rank three its 50 (30+10+10).
THESE ARE PRICES AND AVERAGE DAMAGE RATIOS FOR BEGGINNER-QUALITY WEAPONSWeapons List:Daggers [10] <10> (10 Copper)
Average Damage: [5 dmg + Dex&strmod]
Basic weapons for attack and defence. Not too good at attacking, but very stealthy and sneaky and can potentially be dangerous, virtually nil in defence. Specialization for this weapon costs 40.
Thin Blade (Slicing) (Katanas, Thin bladed Swords) [30] <10> (80 Copper) [8 + Dex&Str]
A good offensive and defensive weapon. The thin blade makes the weapon light weight, enabling fast attacks and defense. Although the light weight makes it so it isn't as strong as some of the heavier weapons. A heavy weapon attacking this would break through.
Thin Blade (Thrusting) (Rapiers, ect) [30] <10> (80 Copper) [8 + Dex&Str]
A good offensive weapon, very quick. The thin blade makes the weapon light weight, enabling fast attacks and defense. Although the light weight makes it so it isn't as strong as some of the heavier weapons. A heavy weapon attacking this would break through.
Short Bow [30] <10> (60 Copper) [12 + Dex]
A small compact bow. Is accurate at short range and very strong due to it's small size. It is small so it can be carried with ease, but the downside is that it is very inaccurate at far distance, indeed it is rare you'd be able to hit a barn if it was farther than a couple hundred feet.
Long Bow [40] <10> (80 Copper) [10] + Dex]
A much bigger bow. It is very accurate in short or long and still pretty powerful. It doesn't pack as much of the punch as the short bow due to it's long string and large size, but it still is powerful none the less. Use this to hit far away targets, although it is inconvenient due to its large size and is very hard to conceal.
Normal Sword [30] <10> (1 Silver 30 Copper) [12 + Dex&Str]
A normal sword, like medieval type swords. They are somewhat heavy, so it takes a little more strength to wield it. It is also hard to swing very fast, although it packs a bigger punch. A good swing will break bones usually regardless of armor.
Heavy Blade (Heavy Sword... think of Cloud's Sword) [50] <15> (5 Silver) [20 + Str]
These are the big mamas of swordplay. You MUST have a high strength for this. It is very heavy and very cumbersome, but if you have high enough strength and speed you can be very dangerous with this. Not only will a good swing break bones, it will shatter them and mangle anything it hits. Must have a strength of 6+ to even
think about using this sword. (Must have a strength of 6 to pick it up)
Rifle [30] <15> (1 Silver 50 Copper) [15 + Dex]
A clunky old firearm that, although very effective at long range, is a bit difficult to wield, and can be unreliable and unwieldy at times. After each shot, the weapon must be readjusted to allow for another, a quick process which can be completed in perhaps three to four seconds. Sometimes jams, and must be cleaned often or else will be more likely to jam.
Hatchet [30] <10> (30 Copper) [7 + dex]
Good for close range due to its small size, but it is also good at long range, since there is the option to throw it at your enemy. Low damage but very quick and versatile.
Medium Axe [35] <10> (70 Copper) [12 + Str]
A regular Axe, large and very powerful, can be either single bladed, or double bladed. Double bladed is heavier, but allows you to be able to swing back and forth, efficiently removing armies worth of heads from their shoulders, without having to re-adjust the handle and blade.
Heavy Axe [55] <15> (5 Silver) [23 + Str]
The equivalent of Cloud's sword is to a regular sword. The Blade is the size of a man, but this axe packs a powerful punch and can easily take down anything in its way. Must have a strength of 8 in order to pick it up let alone swing.
Light Spear [25] <10> (80 Copper) [14 + dex]
A very skinny wooden spear with a sharp metal head. Is very aerodynamic and will easily pierce through most armor when thrown. A long distance, sometimes short distance weapon.
Medium Spear [40] <10> (1 Silver) [16 + dex]
A longer spear, sometimes made out of metal, wood, or other materials depending on it's use. Metal head to pierce through armor, and very effective against mounted attacks.
Heavy Spear [70] <15> (5 Silver) [28 + dex]
A huge Spear with reinforced head and shaft. It usually has a chain attached near the head so the user can throw the weapon and with a yank of the chain pull it back, either pulling it out of whatever it is, or pulling down the wall. It is extremely heavy especially with the length and material the spear is made from, requiring a strength of 9 to lift it.
Scythe/Glaive [35] <10> (80 Copper) [15 + dex]
Very quick and deadly weapon. It is the same weapon the Grim Reaper wields. Is not practical unless in an open space, but can be very dangerous by someone experienced.
Staff [20] <10> (50 Copper) [10 + Dex&Str]
A regular staff. Once trained one can very quickly hit multiple or one foe fast and with strength. Doesn't cut but easily bruises. Staffs can be used for multiple things.
Small Clubs [20] <10> (20 Copper) [5dmg + Str]
Very fast close ranged weapon. If used by a trained user one can hit 6 times within one second (If user is wielding two clubs). Also somewhat strong. (Not clubs like cavemen, but like a slim staff cut in half)
Mace [15] <10> (70 Copper) [12 + Str]
A large club. Can have metal spikes on the top, can look differently, but they all serve the same function. Very powerful and close range, but not too fast.
Cards [30] <10> (10 Copper for a regular pack, increases in price if coated in poison, depending on the poison it can get real expensive) [5 + Dex]
Once thought of as just a past time, this art has become very dangerous. A trained user can throw cards easily up to 90 Mph. Some of the users coat the edges in poison or otherwise so even a small cut can hurt. Although small they can add up to a lot.
Needles [30] <10> (1 Copper per Needle) [5 + dex]
These are needles about the size of pencils. Do low amount of damage, but can easily disable the opponent if hit in the right place.
Boomerang [25] <10> (25 Copper for normal wooden, increases depending on style) [8 + dex]
Usually equipped with metal edge so it includes cutting.
Weighted Chains [30] <10> (60 Copper) [12 + Dex]
Useful for various of reasons. It is a chain with weights on both ends. Can be used in close range and medium range.
Nets [30] <10> (50 Copper) [No damage]
Not actually a weapon, but can be used to disable your opponents. Some nets do have razor-sharp thread, dealing damage to the victim and additional damage for when they thrash/try to get out.
Light Shield [30] <10> (60 Copper) +1 armor
Usually small and wooden with little metal. Good for quick defence against light attacks and doesn't slow you down.
Medium Shield [40] <10> (1 Silver) +3 armor
Can be metal or heavy wood. Will protect against most attacks except for the really heavy ones. Will slow character down, and some require strength.
Heavy Shield [50] <10> (5 Silver) +5 armor
Made out of Mostly Metal. Very strong but very heavy and unwieldy. Range from 5' to 9'. The Smaller ones will protect even against the heavy weapons. The larger ones sometimes has a long spike at the bottom to drive into the earth to hold itself along with the user's strength. These can even stop cannon balls. Not without pain of course
Double Weapon Rule For using two weapons at once, you sacrifice your accuracy for an extra attack. You gain attacks with both weapons, however your accuracy is cut in half. You do not need proficiency in a dual wielding ability, however if you wish to increase your weapon skill in dual wielding you will have to pay slightly more. This means if you wish to dual wield daggers, you only need to pay 10 TP for normal proficiency and you can automatically dual wield, but if you wish to increase your weapon skill with dual wielding you must pay more (see below). You may only dual wield with one handed weapons, and if you are dual wielding you may NOT also have a shield.
The cost to learn dual-wielding is (TO BE INSERTED LATER).
Heavy Weapon Rule For all heavy weapons (Heavy Blade, Heavy Axe, Heavy Spear, ect.) There is the minimum strength req. to
pick it up. You must have two more strength to wield it. You will not be fast with the weapon until you are much stronger. I want to point that out to you.
Armor Rule You will need to have proficiency in shielding, however, you don't need to specialize. The heavier the armor the slower you will become. There is armor ranks, typically light armor is considered 1-4, medium armor is considered rank 5-8, heavy is 9+. Each rank of armor will decrease your damage taken.
Weapon Proficiency Rule No Weapon Proficiency can go below 10 experience despite being in the weapon clan.
