Okay the question 'who's your favorite anime character' has probably been asked a million times, but this time you might have to do some thinking.... I want you to pick your favorite character from each gender. My altime favorite is Shinji from Evangelion. My favorite girl character is probably Arashi from CLAMP's X.

My fav Male character would be Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist.
and my fav Female cahracter would be Sakura from Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle.

Well, quite easy I'd say for the male character: sousuke from Full Metal Panic and for the female character I'd say Asuka from Neon Genesis Evangelion...

sousuke from Full Metal Panic because he's so damn funny but also because he's very very good with handling AS's and for the Asuka from Neon Genesis Evangelion (actually she's quite similar to Sousuke in this) she's very funny as well, maybe I bit too selfish, and she's also good with handling EVAs. ***SPOILERS****I was very sad when the Angel was messing about with her brain in an episode...I was crying for the hate...and it's a pity that at the end she won't be able to control EVAs and that Kowaru takes her place

My reasons:
I like Shinji because... It's hard to say. It's a mix of pity for the fact that he's mixed up in all this horrible stuff and respect that he can still tell himself that he 'musn't run away'. Everyone thinks he's whiny and whatever, but have you noticed.... no matter how unsure or afraid he seems, he always comes back. He really grows up during the series. Oh, and I think he's cute!

As for Arashi from X... she's not a bouncy, happy character shining with optimism. Infact, she's pretty pessimistic. When the world is ending, pessimism IS realism and I appreciate realism.
I like her because she just KNOWS what needs to be done and she does it. She doesn't wait for opinions, she doesn't worry what others will think, she makes a decision and acts. Other characters do this in a cocky way, but for her it just seems natural. SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!! And yet, she can let her defenses down for Sora. She's not immune to love, I like that.
