I'm not going to say it was the world's best anime or anything, but I loved it. It made me laugh and almost cry (which is a big deal since i NEVER cry).
Baisically, Kantarou is a scholar and exorcist who can see demons and critters of the like. He writes articles on folklore to put food on the table, but his true passion is goblins. From Yoko, his kitsune friend who cooks and cleans to strange little blob creatures who make it rain, he wants to be thier friend. Evidentally this came from his childhood when people would be mean to him and tell him all these critters he was seeing weren't real. Since then, he's been on a mission to find the Onikui tengu, the strongest goblin.
Well, on one of his missions to exorcise a demon, he DID find the Onikui (demon-eating) tengu, unsealed it and named it Haruka. This name spell is a strong bond that makes Kantarou Haruka's master. Haruka takes the form of a dashing young man who sometimes has black wings. Problem is, Haruka can't remember anything. He doesn't know how he got sealed or why he no longer thirsts for demon blood.
Usually Kantarou's a funny guy, but towards the end of the series, a group of people (a sorceress, a tengu-hunter and some random soldiers) decide they want Haruka to get his memories back. They want Haruka to be the vicious monster he once was so that he'll be worthy to kill. Problem is, Kantarou's name spell is protecting Haruka and Kantarou would rather die than let them hurt Haruka. Lots of sad stuff happpens in the last few episodes, that's where I almost cried T-T
So, it's WORTH IT! It's not for sale in the US (2 volumes of the manga are but they dont go very far) so you can download it. ^^

I watched the entire episode ( all 26 episode ) of the anime and yeah I can agree that this one is pretty good...the ending is somewhat sad ( everything towards the end is kinda sad anyway.....not spoiling anything am I?...) but yeah this one is good....not sure about the manga though....haven't read any of them...are they as good as the anime?
