Title: New Poll on Key Issues
Description: Obama beats McCain
JamesAquila - May 15, 2008 09:04 PM (GMT)

Only on Terrorism does McCain do better. And I do find it interesting that they chose to list that first.

After what Bush said today in his speech to the Knesset, it's clear that they're going to be playing really dirty with the terrorism/foreign policy thing. Liars!

I know most of you will laugh but I think something big is around the corner. The media tells us, 'the Al Gore watch starts now.' Absolutely every Democrat has endorsed except Al Gore and those who are not allowed to (Dean, Pelosi, Reid). Even with those three its pretty obvious they are pro-Obama. Carter has half declared for Obama but that means that he half hasnt endorsed Obama and that in itself speaks volumes considering what he said 7 months ago:
Shortly after Gore did not dignify a question about a possible presidential run with an answer, former President Jimmy Carter told a crowd in Gastonia, North Carolina he's hoping Gore will still run. "I don't take a choice between, among the Democrats," Carter said when asked who he will support for president. "Although if Gore decided to run for President, I would support him." His audience clearly agreed, because cheers and applause followed this statement.
Carter made a similar endorsement of Gore this morning on MSNBC’s Morning Joe with Joe Scarborough.
Al has never ruled out running for President and he hasnt endorsed.
Al is a man of destiny. He won an Oscar and a Nobel Peace Prize and I just have this hunch that he is about to make his most dramatic performance to date. We cant see it because we dont have his vision but it will be good.
ps - its late Friday night in Australia and yes I've had a big night. :D

Even though I have concerns about Obama and some are on the very stuff that shrub was referencing, AND even though I'm a staunch supporter of Israel, especially for a very liberal Dem, that was totally despicable what shrub did! As Pelosi said, you don't go onto foreign soil and criticize an American candidate in that way, as not only is that just not cool, but it could theoretically endanger/undermine our future foreign policy. It sure doesn't help it any!!! But, what to we expect from a junta that throws Valerie Plame under the bus just to "get even" for her hub actually sticking to facts instead of putting out the misinformation that the junta wanted put out?
Disgusting. Shrub just keeps finding new and different ways to undermine America in the world, and what we stand for.
TOTALLY uncool, what he did. Not saying I don't actually agree with some of what he was saying, but he should have kept his pie hole shut.

Two out of three of those (Dean and Pelosi) have endorsed Obama all along with their actions. In fact, Dean's actions have gotten Obama to this point, very unfairly, imho. As for Pelosi, I love her, but I don't appreciate some of the things she has said and done, out of apparently pro-Obama reasons, during this campaign. Anyway, I think it is clear they both are not neutral. Also, now that I research back into Dean/Obama, I see that clearly they have been supporting each other for years and Dean clearly has a conflict of interest and thus he should have stepped down as DNC Chair before the primary season, as CLEARLY he has acted in ways helpful to Obama and not helpful to the sanctity and protection of a fair, inclusive, proper democratic election process.

Exactamundo. Obvious. In the case of Dean, soooooooo obvious that I can't believe I apparently am the sole Democrat screaming for him to resign due to conflict of interest and, while he is at it, every decision he has made during the primary campaign should be rescinded due to the aforementioned interest conflict.
Yeah, baby. That's what I'm talking about.
I'm just sayin'!

A Gore endorsement of Obama would be a big surprise.
I hate to say it, but it's going to look awful hypocritical of Gore to endorse Obama. One of the reasons why Gore did not pick Edwards as VP in 2000 was lack of experience. For Gore to endorse Obama for President is going to make Gore (and Edwards) look bad.
FellowDemocrat - May 17, 2008 12:43 AM (GMT)
Looks good, James, but I still would prefer to have Obama's numbers closer, if not higher than McCain's, on terrorism-related issues. Fortunately, time is on our side.

You know I want more than anything for this to happen, but how can it now? :?:
Alpha Gore Omega - May 17, 2008 03:44 AM (GMT)
I dont know EM - but I have a feeling Gore is going to make a move in Israel in a few days.
scalbers - May 17, 2008 08:51 PM (GMT)
Is Gore doing something in particular with Israel - such as going there or whatever?
Speaking of polls, the daily Gallup has Obama nearly 10 points over Hillary now, even though Hillary beats McCain while McCain beats Obama. Still a good rationale for Gore!
