Title: NOBEL PEACE PRIZE
Description: Beck USES Sendler like a tool...

The Paraclete - May 13, 2008 05:09 PM (GMT)
Glenn Beck in the most tasteless attack on Al Gore to this date just used the story of Irena Sendler's work in Poland during Nazi Occupation for no other use than to try to give Al Gore a 'black eye' by 'begging' a pointless question...Allow me to explain:

There were 181...allow me to repeat this ONE HUNDRED & EIGHTY ONE...nominations for the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize...in case you didn't KNOW about it Glennnnnnn....ANY ONE OF THEM COULD HAVE WON!...But AL GORE did...AND YOU DON'T LIKE THAT! <_<

So you take the 'story' of ONE nominee that is a 'heartwrenching' account of what happened in the WARSAW GHETTO...to tell this story to HONOR Irena Sendler?...

NO!

Beck USES this story just to make a 'backhanded' SLAP at Al Gore for winning in 2007!...Beck you'd stand on a mountain of bodies just to get some 'half-baked' attack in at AL GORE!...If ANY of the OTHER 179 NOMINATIONS would have won the 'prize' would you have CARED enough to take somebody else's MISERY & DEATH IN VAIN just to ATTACK THEM? I don't THINK so! Beck to me this pretty much proves you have been sucking in toooooo many DRUGS, and you NEED to cut back! :wtf:

Glenn Beck ONCE AGAIN uses the premise...MILLIONS DIED YEARS AGO FOR NO GOOD REASON.....AND I AM JUST HAPPY THERE WERE NO MEMBERS OF MY FAMILY!...That is exactly how TASTELESS THIS ATTACK WAS!

By the way please feel FREE to post this link or use this post for viewing...People need to know how FAR this has gone! :bad:

Hannity And FOX News Blame Al Gore For Global Food Crisis

Reported by Ellen - May 12, 2008

Out of touch Sean Hannity and FOX News trivialized and exploited the plight of those who are struggling with skyrocketing food costs by using the crisis to smear Al Gore. Instead of an honest look at the problem, Hannity's America presented a shallow, distorted report last night (5/11/08) that presented Al Gore as the single most important reason for the food shortage. The only solution presented by pudgy, multi-millionaire Hannity to those who might be suffering was to abandon Gore's “global warming bandwagon.” With video.

It wasn't just Hannity using the misery of others for partisan gain. On its website, FOX News called the segment, “Gore's Grocery: Blame Al Gore for your rising food prices.”

Hannity asked at the beginning, “How did the food shortage become so acute so fast? The growing consensus is that the crop deficit is directly related to the increased demand for production of quote earth friendly biofuels, an effort pushed by none other than the vanquished vice president Al Gore and all in the name of quote saving the planet.”

Hannity is correct that increased demand for biofuels is part of the problem. But there are other factors, too, that the “We report. You decide” network conveniently omitted. According to Time magazine, there are three other factors: One is the chronically low productivity of farmers in the poorest countries, caused by their inability to pay for seeds, fertilizers and irrigation. Another is the growing demand for food and the third, which Hannity would probably rather die than admit to, is climate change. Time reported that recent droughts in Australia and Europe cut the global production of grain in 2005 and '06. New York Times columnist and economics professor Paul Krugman says that high oil costs play a big role, too.

Hannity also failed to mention that U.S. policies subsidize the conversion of food into biofuels and are also to blame. Time criticizes that policy but notes a possible win-win solution: “There may be a case for biofuels produced on lands that do not produce foods--tree crops (like palm oil), grasses and wood products--but there's no case for doling out subsidies to put the world's dinner into the gas tank.”

Hannity went on to quote Gore in 1998 saying he was proud to “stand up for the ethanol tax exemption.” But Hannity didn't mention that more recently -- in 2006, for example -- Gore endorsed cellulosic ethanol over corn-based ethanol.

Clearly, Hannity was more interested in smearing Gore than in discussing the food shortage. After blaming Gore for the food crisis, well-fed Hannity immediately forgot those unfortunate enough to be affected by the high prices in order to attack Gore over global warming. “The fact is Al Gore has a financial stake in spreading global warming hysteria,” Hannity claimed, as if that was going to put food on anyone's table but his own. “He's admitted to investing in the kinds of companies that will profit from his plea to quote, go green. Was Al Gore thinking about saving the planet or perhaps lining his pockets?” Can there be any doubt that if Gore did not invest in such companies that Hannity would attack him for being a hypocrite?

After Private Jet Hannity took a swipe at Al Gore for flying on one, too, Hannity went on to repeat one of his past distortions: “Scores of scientists all over the world say human activities are not heating up the earth at all.” Predictably, Hannity overlooked the vast preponderance of scientists who disagree.

“So did Al Gore blatantly disregard climate information that didn't help his bottom line?” Hannity asked. It was a question he and FOX News might have asked themselves.

Hannity concluded the segment by saying, “Now that the wheels are coming off of Al Gore's global warming bandwagon, well even some of his loyal supporters may have to make a choice. Should I follow Al Gore's half-baked notion to save the planet? Or feed my family?”

In other words, let them eat carbon.

Once again another one-sided diatribe from Neocon radio with NO premise in factual evidence, allow me to explain, as Democrats SHOULD be explaining to the public.

The reason why food prices are rising has little to nothing to do with producing 'ethanol'. This is a Karl Rove contrived 'fairy tale' that has nothing to do with real life, and here is why.

MOST ethanol is produced by 'fallow field growth'. For soil conservation which Beck doesn't understand, we ask farmers to let fields go fallow in off years and rotate fields. THAT is to prevent 'overusage' of the soil and prevent another DUST BOWL situation like we had in the 30's. (THAT is the REAL reason why we subsidize farmers NOT to plant ALL their land every year). That DOESN'T mean that the fallow fields do 'unplanted' because in dry years those fields would go to dust anyway. So farmers plant 'clover' or 'switch grass' in the fallow fields to hold the soil. Ethanol comes from THAT switch grass and other crops suitable for energy concerns as opposed to human & animal consumption. I lived on a 'farm' so i know this as a fact.

The REASON why food prices are rising has to do with the increased costs of energy. May I remind Glenn Beck whose superior intellect may indeed fit in a thimble, that CORN, WHEAT, ORANGE JUICE, along with MOST commodities have to be TRANSPORTED to market processing, and FINISHED products have to be TRANSPORTED to retail outlets!. Diesel fuel runs at $4.19 a GALLON as of now, & THAT cost has to be carried down to the consumer! So the REASON your FOOD PRICES are RISING has to do with the COST of a barrel of 'oil'.

Since Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity & Co. literally SWIM in 'oil money', (or should I say 'wallow in it like the pigs they are'), there is a high likelihood they are going to 'pretzel' and 'cherry pick' the facts to suite them. Anyone who listens to them gets 'stupider' by the second. They should try going out and gassing up their vehicle while they blame Al Gore for NOT stopping George Bush from attacking Iraq! (Of course he couldn't do it, but I am merely making a point here).

Oh yes! I almost forgot about the worldwide DROUGHT situation that has killed off many crops in 'underdeveloped' nations. In agro-business here, "do you THINK that the DROUGHT that happened in Alabama through Tennesseee to Georgia MAY have affected crop outputs in those areas?

But you see mentioning the word DROUGHT leads to 'global warming' and by Elvis THAT can't be happening! Like the record 22 Tornadoes that hit this week, killing many in Oklahoma, may be connecting to....(gasp-whisper)...'global warming'.

Glenn Beck for what you did using the memory of those helped by Irena Sendler just to make an attack on Al Gore, I am nominating you for the "One Sick B#stard" Award in 2008! I think RU$H won that one in 2005 for calling Hurricane Katrina, "Urban Renewal". Am I right papa?
