Keep it up, Al Gore. You could singlehandedly sink John Kerry's campaign much as you sank your own in 2000.
Why hasn't the Kerry campaign closeted the former vice president away somewhere like, say, Yucca Mountain until the election's over? The poison Gore is spewing should be as repulsive to John Kerry [related, bio] as a nuclear waste dump in Nevada.
Gore, frankly, has come completely unhinged.
In a New Yorker interview published this week, he accused President Bush [related, bio] of having ``moral weakness.'' And he said, ``I think he is a bully, and like all bullies, he's a coward when confronted with a force that he's fearful of.''
Why do we get the feeling that Albert Arnold Gore Jr., was subjected to a fair share of schoolyard bullying that he's yet to get over?
By criticizing Bush's faith, Gore also showed why he didn't pull out a race for the presidency that was his to lose. ``It's a particular kind of religiosity. . . .the American version of the same fundamentalist impulse that we see in Saudi Arabia, in Kashmir, in religions around the world: Hindu, Jewish, Christian, Muslim.'' Did he leave anyone out of this offensive smear?
Yesterday, Gore called Vice President thingy Cheney's campaign tactics ``sleazy and despicable.'' As you probably said in the schoolyard, Al, it takes one to know one.
