While the writer kind of spun it that Gore "all but ruled out" a scenario in which he emerges as the nominee on the convention floor, is it just me, or did his quoted comment seem to do just the OPPOSITE, as in...he sure did NOT seem to rule it out to me!

Yes, he laughed it off, yes, he said it was a remote possibility, but NO, he did not rule it out!

To me, the fact that Gore's response was, quote: "In a year of remote contingencies, that's about as remote as you could possibly imagine" gives me lots of HOPE because, Gore has been in politics for a very long time and he is very precise and exact with words, saying exactly what he means to convey. Had he wanted to rule it out, he would have RULED IT OUT, period. But he DIDN'T! That, to me, was totally missed by the writer of the article, who said Gore "all but ruled out" the brokered convention scenario, with himself emerging as nominee. Yes, he downplayed it's likelihood, but he didn't rule it out. He didn't say he didn't want it to happen. He didn't say it couldn't happen. He didn't say it shouldn't happen.

I mean, is it just me?! :dance: :bow:
