I live in Central Illinois and we got quite a jolt this morning and it freaked me out. About 4:30 this morning the bed started shaking and I heard a rumbling in the house. My husband went to see if the cats were up to no good but they were just looking around acting confused. My daughter could not go back to sleep. Really I thought that we left the threat of earthquakes back in Memphis. Did not know they were a threat here as well. Also today our power went out and stayed out for several hours and about 10:30 the aftershock hit. What a weird day! At least the kids got out early because of the power going out. No damage at our house but a neighbor's garage ceiling fell in because the quake loosened some dry rotted plaster.
