Randi Rhodes is off the air this week. Who knows how long it will be for? While doing a fund raiser for a radio station in San Francisco she did some "stand-up comedy" in which she used unflattering terms to describe Geraldine Ferraro and Hillary Clinton. The most off-color comments got posted on You Tube. Fox News then made this into a story and Rhodes was suspended from her show.

What do you all think about this?

This is just an example of the power that the Clintons have. We need to rid ourselves of their influence because it is always self-serving.

Air America has been an interesting entity. I never thought of it as much of a real "left" station. Most of the more interesting people have either left or been "let go." I think Malloy is too often over the top and too often sounding like a left verson of "Limbo." I don't think that is necessary but he does get to the point some times.
(And I say that because he's very intelligent, has a lot to say, and I think his message would have more impact if the used a more moderated delivery. Not saying less, heavens no- but how it's delivered can have a tremendous impact)

He asks the question I've always wondered about. There are enough alleged "lefties" out there with the money to back Air Ameria- but they don't.

As with most media, the infiltration of right wing management, ownership, and on, continues. As with PBS, which was known as Petroleum Broadcasting Service a long time ago, the right wing knows that money is the root of all control and influence.

A lesson those who have the money and are allegedly left seem to purposefully ignore.

Air America Desperate to (Continue) Destroy(ing) Themselves

"Our friend Mike Malloy, formerly of AAR and now of NovaM, says the current crop of owners are "right wing thugs." And how were those "right wing thugs able to get inside AAR with their bags of money?" Malloy asked rhetorically last night...because the wealthy, millionaire, "Leftwing liberal (edited out for language by Questions) refused to put any up."

This is pure censorship done by the Clinton's Bush style (but then the Clintons/Bush's are one and the same).

They put a hit out on Randi and she is gone

It's funny- Randi was 100% for Hillary til Hillary abused Bill Richardson and others and injected race in the race.

So Hillary burned a bridge

you know what's funny- as they said on AAR this morning, this is giving AAR exposure on Fox, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, the media, MSM, etc. that they never had

So Randi is going to be like a martyr and iwll come back stronger than ever

While the Clinton's disintegrate out of DC...despicable human beings that they are...Thank God Obama beat them and Hillary lost

To paraprhase the great Rev. wright- God Damned America when the Clinton's and Bush's took office.

Randi Rhodes once said "If you're attacked Democrats, then you're a Republican". Sounds like she was hoist on her own petard.

I don't think saying what she said in front of a camera and microphone was a good move. It crossed a line and won't help beat John McCain. But I don't think they should keep her off the air for long either. :?:

Randi Rhodes has been ardent Al Gore supporter in past and is one of the smartest and captivating radio personality. However, in this particular incident, she made comments that are not acceptable. Given that she was drunk and within a club, her comments were over the line. Air America Radio's policies are correct in this context. I hope Randi continues her career and be part of the public discourse.

I don't know what Randi did, but I agree with Singhtjunior about her being a huge Gore supporter. Maybe she got a little too raunchy, but I kind of like that about her. As they say, "Women who behave seldom make history."

Dang, I've used some unflattering terms to describe Ferraro and Clinton myself. I'm here for Gore, not because I'm a Democrat. I'm not. And they're blowing their chances of getting my vote as this never-ending, tedious, nightmare of a campaign drags $on$ & $on$ & $on$ & $on$. :dripple:

The latest thing I've heard about this situation is that Randi Rhodes no longer works for Air America Radio. And, that station she was supporting in California says "They are bringing her back" on April 14th :o

Air America Media was informed last night by Ms. Rhodes that she has chosen to terminate her employment with the company. We wish her well and thank her for past services to Air America."

H#ll! I didn't even know AAR was still on the air after the bankruptcy! And they take the ONE asset they actually have....Randi Rhodes....and silence her? :?:

Sinton made all the bad decisions when he opted to waste the Drobny's money on contracts with Franken & Garafolo...Al Franken is a great comedian, but went it came to Talk Radio...he came off as a boring college economics professor...Garafolo is a great actress and has passion, but her show had no structure...

Then Sinton put the bankruptcy 'nail in the coffin' when he contracted Springer...he should have picked nobodies wanting fame like me instead...I would have worked for 'peanuts' contract-wise...Instead Sinton drove the Network bankrupt by 'bankrolling' big names that went nowhere...

But THAT is another story! ;)

This is an end of Air America Radio.

It is sad, but again, after Randi Rhodes, there is no point in having Air America. All the radio programs are trivial and irrelevant. Thom Harman is better off writing books, and Rachel Meadow is more suitable for television. She is intelligent and articulate, and I hope CNN or MSNBC are able to tap into her talent. She will bring much bigger audience than psychopath Glen Beck, who nobody ever watches, and is used as a torture method on "enemy combatants" by the State Department. Betsy Rosenberg had an outstanding program called Eco-talk at AAR, and she is gone too. Therefore, Good bye Air America Radio forever.

What the Clintons better realize is THIS...people are getting 'sick & tired' of the same ol' business as usual in DC...THAT is why Senator Barack Obama has soundly defeated Senator Hillary Clinton...(and I SAY this as a Clinton Supporter)...NOBODY wants the Democrat 'equivalent' of the BU$H Administration...and when you 'silence' somebody like Randi Rhodes then you are NOT scoring points with your Democratic Allies! :!:

Now we can sit and 'cry' in out tea like we did in 2004 when Kerry soundly beat Howard Dean only to be 'swiftboated' later and LOSE to BU$H because HALF of the Democratic voters were sooooo 'turned off' that they STAYED HOME! I have yet to hear Senator Obama to make a 'unity' pledge as well...he should so that the WHOLE Democratic 'apparatus' can be motivated to help him...if he doesn't then all that Obama Hussein Bin-Laden MUD may dry on him in a permanent way...it's up to him...he can preserve the WHOLE Party or he can watch HALF of it walk away and LOSE to McCain!
