According to this reporter, the interesting information is not being brought out in news reports:

What Did Bill Clinton Do To Get $15M From Ron Burkle?

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/04/04/w...-1_n_95189.html

.....
"One big line item is missing from the press summary however: the $15 million paid to Bill Clinton between 2003 and 2007 by Ron Burkle's Yucaipa Global Opportunities Fund.

In fact, the Burkle payments, buried deep in the income tax forms themselves, were the only real news in tax documents, which were made public for the first time.

The Clintons' huge book profits, her salary and his speaking fees, were all well known. Hillary Clinton has been required to disclose details on many of those sources of income in the annual financial disclosure statements she has to file as a member of the U.S. Senate.

But until the release of the tax returns on April 4, the only disclosure Hillary Clinton had made about her husband's financial relationship with Burkle was the fact that Bill Clinton earned "more than $1,000" annually from the partnerships.

Now that the Clintons have disclosed that the former president received from 250 to 500 times "more than $1,000" each year since 2002, the glaring question that remains unanswered is: What did he do for all this pocket change?"

.....

"Burkle and Yucaipa have been involved in a number of controversies that have reportedly prompted concerns in Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign that her bid might be damaged by resulting adverse publicity.

Bill Clinton was, according to sources close to both Burkle and Clinton, deeply angered by a September 26, 2007, front page Wall Street Journal article detailing some of Yucaipa's questionable dealings. The story, which broke on the same day that heads of state and business leaders convened in New York to discuss the Clinton Global Initiative, described plans to invest millions of dollars in a venture to buy up Catholic Church property.

Clinton, according to aides, intends to sever his financial ties with Burkle, although he may do so only if his wife wins the nomination, an increasingly unlikely prospect."

It will be a nice day when money doesn't play a part in politics. Maybe in the year 3035....

Look, I recall watching Bill Clinton at a dinner speech in front of a couple of hundred big rollers all of which had some form of power?

I think it might have been a lecture on Global threats or -----well I can't recall the subject of the event BUT-----

I do recall how honest I thought he was when he said; "Oh I love the Bush tax cuts!" "Since I left office we have become rich, much richer than we ever were during public service by miles."

"Those Bush tax cuts help me and they help you BUT they don't do a damn thing for all of those good people here in the room right now serving you this fine dinner!"

And there were a 100 waiters and such in the room at that moment and all I could think of was how much truth he stood up there and told them all!

So he got rich, so he peddled influence maybe, they all do, all of them! At least it was out of office????

Yeah, it's fine that they've make $109 million. Good for them, I say. Hillary can loan herself another $5 mill if she needs.

I've been tough on the Clinton's of late. And I'll continue to be so as long as she continues to stay in the race and lie about Bosnia, lie about the tragic death about an insured hospital patient, lie about her being against the Iraq war before Obama was, etc.

But I ain't gonna be tough on them for making a lot of money. (Although I do have to admit...after finding out Bill received money from Dubai, his support for their Ports deal makes more sense now)

Wow! I thought that I would have to go to the FAUX News or Rush's website to see a total distortion of the facts like this. For the record:

- The Dubai ports deal began in 2005, long after Clinton left office.

- Bill Clinton never made any public statements supporting the Dubia ports deal.

- The only money he ever got from Dubai was $300K for attending and speaking at a summit there in 2002. (That's about 0.3% of the Clinton's total income.)

- Hillary Clinton, along side her fellow NY Senator Chuck Schumer, was one of the chief opponents of the deal in the Senate.

- All Bill Clinton ever did was give some private advice to officials in Dubai when they called him.

All Bill did was be impeached.
And it really doesn't much matter if Hillary herself voted for or against

Because we all know the final vote counts in the senate is manipulated because the votes are public

So things pass and fail and the person looks better saying No, when they helped the Joe Lieberman's and 20 others vote yes and it passes

Why anyone would not think something is odd in this info is beyond me.

I wouldn't pay Bill Clinton 2 cents to hear him talk. He does enough yakking for free.
He could have read the phone book and he still would have been paid the same
amount.

Wow! Facts really have no place in your world.

Fact is someone doesn't make 119 MILLION for yapping a little bit and posing for a few pictures.

You won't catch me voting for Hillary.

She is far to the right of McCain.

Wow! You can't even get a simple fact right. It's $109 million, not $119 million. Guess that's the result of being a pathological liar.

So when McCain becomes president and invades Iran, will you take responsibility for the blood on your hands? My guess is that you'll find a way to twist the truth and blame the Clintons.

Not according to the American Conservative Union's ranking based on Senate voting records.
