This is my first posting here. I've been hoping this list might shed some light on an exciting possibility! Do you think we could talk (beg) Al Gore to try again? It's not like we'd be taking a chance; neither would Al. Does anyone else think that would be a slam dunk? :clap:

All of us here think Gore would be the best president. And we did everything we could to convince him to run. As you know, however, he didn't. Maybe it's because he's smart enough to have foreseen how ugly the campaign would turn. Maybe it's because he wanted to continue concentrating on global warming. Maybe it's something else altogether. We did get information last year that told us that Gore would accept a draft at the convention, that it wasn't that he didn't want to be president, he just didn't want to run. I'm afraid I can't back that information up to say for sure that it's true, and of course, that was last year, and many things could have changed since then.

I'm quite certain he won't be getting in the race on his own, but it is possible he'll be brought in as a unity candidate at the convention. And I believe that if that happened, he'd accept.
