Title: It's Time
Description: It's Time for Al to Endorse Barack
lifer - March 21, 2008 08:38 PM (GMT)
Al isn't going to run in 08.
If he does, he doesn't stand a chance. Obama and Clinton delegates, financial supporters, etc., are far too entrenched at this point to spin a 180, drop their candidate and start over with Al.
It is time for Al to endorse the one democratic candidate with true vision. The one who is able to articulate the BIG questions America faces in terms of the environment, war, healthcare, the economy, class and race. The only one who consistently seeks to avoid the LITTLE questions the press and we(!) perseverate upon every election cycle.
Al, it's time to endorse Barack Obama.
Thanks.

I could be wrong, but I have a feeling he won't endorse anyone until he gets behind whoever wins the nomination.

The major candidates are shooting each other in the foot, and the democratic party needs someone to vote for that can go into the general election without all of the baggage that they have inflicted on each other. Everyone that I have talked to are not happy with either candidate. We must have someone to vote for that can lead this country. Obama and Hillary will not give in to each other and they will not support the other. We have to have someone new. This season has been fodder for tthe GOP.

I registered to comment specifically on this site to call for Al Gore to endorse Senator Obama. The Clinton campaign has become so negative and destructive of the party that she is jeopardizing our chances in November. Carville's remarks about the "treasonous" nature of Governor Richardson's endorsement and Penn's comments about Richardson's irrelevancy are the worst kind of sour grapes and back biting. Richardson, who the Clinton campaign has been on its knees to for many weeks, is irrelevant. Puhleeeeese.

Carville's statement about Governor Richardson's endorsement of Obama reveals a lot about how Clinton and her supporters view this contest. It seems that they arrogantly feel she is "entitled" to be the nominee and that Democrats should be personally loyal to the Clintons instead of supporting who they believe to be the best candidate.
Still waiting to hear from Al.. maybe he will make an endorsement in April :?:

I doubt that Al Gore will endorse anyone during the primary race. He will probably endorse whichever Democratic candidate wins the nomination. I hope that won't be necessary, however, because I fervently hope for a brokered convention in which Gore himself emerges at the top of the ticket. Improbable as that sounds, there is a lot of serious buzz about it in the last few days, and I'm actually starting to believe, or at least to hope, that it is possible.

Al will be on 60 minutes with Lesley Stahl Sunday.
