Title: Gore to Meet Obama?

Alpha Gore Omega - December 17, 2007 11:03 AM (GMT)
I think that Al Gore and Barak Obama are going to meet this week. The article below from the American Spectator says discussions could be underway. If it does happen the media will say Gore is going to endorse Obama and that will be big news. But the bigger news will be the reality - the annoncement of a Gore-Obama ticket for the primaries. If you cant vote for Gore because he is not on a primary ballot people can vote for Obama and those delegates will vote for Gore-Obama
at the convention.

Gore currently has a 16% chance of being the next President according to intrade.com. But if he is Gore's VP candidate he has a 90% chance (my estimate) of being the VP and frontrunner for 2016.

If a Gore-Obama meeting is announced we are home.

Sen. Barack Obama's campaign is attempting to set up a meeting between the new, hot, Democrat candidate and former Vice President Al Gore.

Gore has put off a meeting, but based on Obama's new found poll footing and political momentum, Gore might be looking to insert himself more explicitly into the Democrat primary season, something he has thus far avoided.

It's unclear if Gore would endorse any candidate for the nomination he was once thought to desperately want. But like New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Gore might see some advantage to being seen as politically engaged in the primary process.

Gore was expected back in the United States after a trip to Europe and Bali, where he embarrassed U.S. negotiators in a public speech attacking the Bush Administration at the UN climate change conference

Some sort of trifecta would bring in 60 percent of the vote with
Obama Gore Bloomberg all helping bring America back to where it should be.

Thank God people are finally waking up to not wanting a Bush/Clinton/Bush/Clinton sort of Monarchy

Change can only come with change (and change makes cents to me)

If there is a political deal between Gore and Obama, it will be an endorsement. Obama doesn't need to be Gore's veep: his campaign has all the momentum and the Clintons are imploding.

We need Gore at the top of any ticket because of his world standing, and the positive message that he brings.

Since this whole issue of a Gore/Obama ticket is speculative anyway-

If Obama is smart, sitting in the VP spot for eight years of a Gore presidency would set him up nicely for the eight years after that in the top spot.

It would disarm the naysayers about his experience and I think Gore is the type who would keep a VP pretty busy.

Plus, it would probably keep a Democrat in that top spot for 16 years and if the party and Obama want to see that happen, then Obama would step back to a VP spot.

If you think the GOP is attack dog central now, wait until they figured out they may be out of power that long. Face it, Clinton is the GOP second choice if they can't get their chosen candidate in that spot.

However, this is speculation. :coolwink:
