Al Gore and Olympia Snowe are two of the very few people in active political life with the integrity, compassion, strength, and electability to get the United States back on track.

Extreme circumstances call for extreme measures, and this is where we find ourselves as a nation.

Gore and Snowe should respectfully and maturely disassociate themselves from their respective political parties, and run on a President/Vice President ticket without party affiliation,putting together a simple, believable platform based on honesty, openness, a commitment to health care and transportation reform, a balanced budget, and withdrawal of US troops from Iraq & Afghanistan within twelve months. This is the right thing for them to do.

Gore appeals to a huge number of decent, liberal, slightly left-of-center voters. Snowe appeals to a huge number of decent, conservative, slightly right-of-center voters. Both are regarded as honest, proven, and effective public figures. Together they could stitch together an administration that could begin to restore public faith in the federal government and the democratic process.
