Title: Bali and the DraftGore Movement
Description: December 3rd-14th

IanOC - November 11, 2007 01:16 AM (GMT)
The 13th UN Conference on climate change will be held from December 3rd to 14th. For more information, go here: http://unfccc.int/meetings/cop_13/items/4094.php

The goal of the conference is to get international agreement on a treaty by 2009 which will replace Kyoto. If there is a major breakthrough at Bali, it is possible that this will signify the "change in public consciousness" that Gore says is necessary. And if this happens at the same time that the DraftGore movement gets Gore on the ballot in California, New York and other states, the time for Gore's entry into the presidential race will certainly have come.

If Barack Obama can be convinced that he can not stop the Clintons alone, perhaps he and Gore will team up and Democratic voters will soon hear that "a vote for Obama is a vote for Gore and a vote for Gore is a vote for Obama."

What a crock. Do you people have to put everything that discusses the real urgency of this crisis in terms of yourselves? I really am sick of hearing about Draft Gore to be honest with you, and I support Al Gore. If he really wants to change his mind and run he will and doesn't need you doing it for him. Until then if that time ever comes, why don't you all put your egos in check, because if he ever does decide to do so it won't be because you or your arrogant ultimatums changed his mind. I tend to think he is much more substantial than that in his thinking. And Bali is about so much more than your political fantasies, but far be it for the myopic minded who post on these blogs to see that or care about it.

What I offered is merely speculation about the possibility that Gore would decide to run for president. That has nothing to do with my ego, but is an expression of hope that we will have change in this country. You may disagree, but an ad hominem attack is not an argument.

You sure don't sound like An AL GORE supporter and bashing real supporters and all those involved in the Draft Gore Movement isn't going to win you many friends here. Maybe you should take your arrogant EGO somewhere else. :bad:

Believe me, taking my views elsewhere where obsessed individuals who have nothing better to do than blow smoke up peoples' butts and who really don't care about his work now only for how they can use it to forward their own agenda will be a pleasure. And if you really supported this good man you would be out in the REAL WORLD supporting his endeavors instead of making this "your life." So you can take your preaching elsewhere. BTW, would you lay down in front of a bulldozer to stop a coal fired power plant from being constructed as he asked of us? Do you even know why he would ask that? If not, don't then spew your rhetoric at me about "real supporters." You wouldn't know what that meant if it walked up and bit you on your obsessed ass. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to a place where discussion of the urgency of this crisis and his good work is actually appreciated in lieu of BS sound bites.

It might be constructive to air some of your views in the "Environmental Issues" threads where I have recently posted. I also posted a global warming essay in this forum, so there is room here to discuss environmental urgency directly (and politely).

No, it is YOU who needs to take your preaching somewhere else. We here are at home. No one invited an Anti-Gore here to bash those who want real change in our world, which I think is a selfless reason for wanting Gore to run. You know nothing about the Draft Gore movement or why we want Gore to be President so why don't you go back and crawl under the rock in which you come from!!

And one other thing, the Draft Gore movement respects Gore tremendously and they stopped what they were doing back in 2004 when Gore asked them to. He hasn't asked us to do that this time and I believe he wants us to continue to speak out. Nobody asked you to visit this site!!

Boy, you have NO idea what you're talking about or of the work being done for the environment by many who post here.

Why don't you just calm down a bit and get acclimated? You may realize that you were very wrong to be so quick to judge us and also that....it doesn't have to be one or the other, as in working to solve the climate crisis OR trying to get Gore to run for POTUS. Actually, they're one and the same. We want someone in office who can and WILL do what is necessary to address this problem. JUST using compact flourescent bulbs and cloth grocery bags is NOT going to solve global warming. <_<

Btw, did you post something that wasn't very nice on another site today about one of our moderators? If that WAS you, please do go.

Otherwise... :Y:

Now I get the idea why so many people are against us, it's because of ignorant people like you. You are a BLOWHARD who obviously hasn't spent any time knowing to whom you are talking. We have probably done more, feet on the ground backing of Al Gore than you have done in your lifetime.

AND YOU QUESTION OUR LOYALTY TO AND KNOWLEDGE OF GORE?

All I can offer is DON'T LET THE DOOR SMACK YOUR ASS AS YOU GET THE HECK OUTTA HERE.

I hope that is a good enough BS soundbite for your BS nature.

The person posting as Earthcomesfirst sounds suspiciously similar to JanforGore? This is exactly what JanforGore says in all of her posts and comments to Gore supporters on Current.com-- "And if you really supported this good man you would be out in the REAL WORLD supporting his endeavors instead of making this "your life."

My question is this. Why can't WE the people of this country do both? Why can't we support Gore as a US and World leader and at the same time support his causes by changing our lives and our own ways of living and thinking?

On another note, I don't think Mr. Gore would be flattered by the rudeness you use while making your points. If he's NOT asking anyone to stop and he's NOT angry about this support, what gives you the right to be?
