Title: Possible theory as to why Al Gore won't run
Description: ...could a major deal be in the works...

Just a theory. No evidence, however...

Could a major deal have been made for all the following to happen

Al Gore won't challenge Hillary to be president
In exchange

Bobby Kennedy Jr. (major environmentalist) becomes Senator of New York after Hillary is inaugurated (leaving her seat open for a Spitzer replacement)

Barack Obama is named to the US Supreme Court to replace retiring Stevens (and both are from Illinois), Obama could theoretically be on the court for 40 years

Al Gore either becomes Hillary's VP, or given a major, major, REAL position of importance such as Al Gore will also be named to the US Supreme Court by Hillary

Enquiring minds want to know...

Could this turn a bad situaion (Hillary elected easily in 2008), into a good situation

Hillary is "not electable". ;) So....if Al doesn't run, we are doomed.

Well, in order for any oft his to come true, Hillary has to win the general, which I don't think she'll be able to do. I wouldn't mind the rest... with the exception of Al Gore entering the Supreme Court. I'd much rather have him as President. Plus, that doesn't strike me as an area where he'd like to go. With this said, I think that Obama possibly could be preparing for a race in the future. Don't get me wrong, i'm sure he wants to be President now, but he knows that he's perfectly capable of running in the future, too. He's way young, and could enter after the VP of the next Democratic President serves his/her two terms (Just using that as a example of time).
