Al Gore does not have the leadership skills to do THE RIGHT THING.I have proposed the government sponsorship and financing of solar power .Thirty percent of greenhouse gas is formed in the production of electricity.If solar power was subsidized in just -- Texas , Arizona , New Mexico , Florida , California and Florida emmisions would drop below the 1960's level and the inport of natural gas would be totaly eleminated with a surplus being developed.Why then has BOTH parties and AL GORE Ran from this issue.You are right if you said lobbies and big business (electric and oil companies).If Al Gore can walk the walk he should push for solar power subsidies and lets get our country back.

That is a very weak reply.Al Gore with his influence and media exposure could ,with very little effort,get solar power subsidies and grants,the fastest way out of our foreign dependance,on the fast track to implementation.So the only reason i can see not to do so would be his desire to talk the talk without costing him support and money from oil and energy cos. and walking the walk.

It's a weak reply because so many others have replied repeatedly and so very eloquently to the issue of Gore "walking the walk" on a number of threads here. Dig around some and you'll see.

I don't have time to dig it all up or rewrite what they've said. I'm not mentally lazy. I'm working on my master's degree and trying to graduate in a month, but will be happy to engage after the first of the year. It's all here somewhere if you care to find it.

This year I've simply been replacing burned out light bulbs with CF bulbs and making a conscious effort to turn off lights and electronics when I leave a room. I just opened my electric bill and for the 3rd time in 4 months my KwH usage is less than it was last year. This month it was 437 KwH less than last November! I've never had a downward trend before. :dance: :clap:
