Title: So Time To Hold Your Nose
Description: & Decide WHO to vote for in 2008!

The Paraclete - October 19, 2007 04:54 PM (GMT)
Since Democrats cannot be smart enough to convince Al Gore to run next year...then WHO are YOU going to hold your nose and vote for next year?

Both sides are LOADED with 'stinkers'...We have Clinton...I love her but she is the 'lightening rod'...so if she wins then we stand a chance of getting yet another war mongering Neocon pick...Obama? Doesn't really impress me...the rest? Save for Kucinich, NONE of them interest me...Can ANY of them press for unity?...I am not really sure... :coolwink:

But here is the case... THEY are going to try their best on the GOP to put in yet another Neocon to perpetuate this failing war in Iraq...Just watch who THEY favor! I actually FEAR getting Manchurian Candidate McCaine...or "Blow My Own Horn" Guiliani as a President because ALL they would do is perpetuate that War On Terror based in....IRAQ!...(NOT PAKISTAN WHERE THEY SHOULD BE LOOKING)

Here's who I am looking for...a comprimiser that admonishs the problems we have in both "global warming" & "global terrorism" and can work with BOTH Liberals & Conservatives well. That candidate MUST be articulate, educated, and have the ears of world leaders. That candidate MUST be for PEACE...NOT WAR...and MUST END THE WAR IN IRAQ!...So I am LOOKING for AL GORE! But I have to settle for another 'bad' substitute!

On the GOP side, the ONLY one I have respect for is Ron Paul...and THAT is mainly because he has been YELLING at his party to SEE that the problems they DO have were not CAUSED by conservatives...but NEO-conservatives! These Straussians have all but ruined our nation over the years because they look it WAR as an 'expansion' tool...AND because they practice Social Darwinism when it comes to domestic issues...THAT is Ebenezer Scrooge Economics....Are there not enough prisons? Well if the poor and working classes and going to die then they better do it quick and decrease the SURPLUS population...

I am going to demand a write-in ballot and vote for Gore.

It doesn't matter in Tennessee anyway. The Red state person will win and therefore get all of the electoral votes!

Last I heard Prof Gore he was considering changing his stance on his support of the electoral system. He had supported it even after his defeat cause it was the USSC that defeated him illlegally!

I think, but I don't know, that the demographics that show the world and this nation is going to be a majority of the population in cities and not rural areas was the reason he was considering supporting a end to the electoral college cause it is now giving to much weight to rural areas that are far from the majority of the population that contributes to society in general.

I used to support it too, but no longer. Doesn't matter cause they are not going to get rid of it in my lifetime, so I need to die I guess for everyone to have a chance at it changing???(Thats a joke I think???)

Back in a few days amigos. Don't settle yet. It may not be good timing to declare right after winning the Nobel Prize. We've hung in this long -- we can wait a few more weeks.

The Paraclete - October 19, 2007 05:13 PM (GMT)
Thanks for the support there blue! And HOPEFULLY you and I will find GAINFUL employment by Christmas!...(and YOU don't have to die...we just NEED to get rid of Dubya & Co....Cheney,Perle,Wolfowitz, etc...)

Wayne, don't get my hopes up! LOL! I don't think my heart can take it right now! :!:

Want to see a grown man burst into literal tears of joy? Just let Al Gore ANNOUNCE a run for President in 2008!...AND WATCH THE GREATEST POLITICAL MOBILIZATION OF ALL TIME! THE AL GORE ARMY SAYS 'WE WON'T GET FOOLED AGAIN'!....(OR CHEATED EITHER!) :good:

The Paraclete - October 19, 2007 07:12 PM (GMT)
Allow me to clarify myself better here...I looove Hillary Clinton, but everyone knows how I feel about her...SHE NEEDS TO BE VP UNDER AL GORE! That should allow the Al Gore Army enough time to wipe the Neocon Noise Machine tarnish from her while Al Gore repairs the damage BU$H did! Also VP Clinton can spend ALL of her time on healthcare as well!

AND SHAME ON BU$H & THE GOP (GUARDIANS OF PORK) FOR PUTTING MILLIONS OF CHILDREN OUT OF HEALTHCARE BY PUTTING DOWN SCHIP! YOU SOB'S WOULD STEAL CANDY FROM A BABY'S MOUTH! HYPOCRITES!

just a word about...
Ron Paul is ANTI-ABORTION, anti-ConsitutionalistAmerican.
No thanks.
People need to learn about the real Ron Paul, and remember, what has he done the last dozen years in office? He is part of the problem, not the solution.
And has zero chance of beating Hillary.

dbciii - October 20, 2007 05:36 PM (GMT)
Biden.

No need to hold nose.

Let Joe tackle ending our debacle in Iraq; pull in Edwards either as veep or a senior advisor on domestic policy.

These two together are almost as good as one Al Gore. And they'll welcome his involvement in whatever way he chooses.

That's assuming per your OP that he does not have an 11th hour change of heart, of course.

My feelings regarding any plan B: Hold your nose AND take an antiemetic. :dripple:

Edwards and Dodd are the best ones on the environment. But neither are aggressive enough. For example, we need fuel efficiency standards on autos in the US raised, as they both propose to do, but SOONER than they both propose. Their plans state they would raise standards by 2016 or 2017. HELLO, the technology exists NOW, so the standards should be raised in at most two model years after the legislation goes into effect. Surely 24 months is enough time for the automakers to produce and sell cars in the US that get the same fuel efficiency they already get overseas? We do not have TIME to play around, global climate change is upon us now. Gore understands this with a clarity and intensity that none of the current field of candidates possess. WE NEED GORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But if he doesn't get in, which I still cannot fathom, even though that is what all the pundits are saying now and there are only a few weeks left for him to get in, then I would have to be for Edwards or Dodd. I am currently in a snit at Edwards for removing himself from the Michigan ballot and boycotting Florida, but whatareyagonnado? I don't see why the candidates are even lowering themselves to get into this primary ruckus. Iowans and NH-ites wouldn't hold it against them if they stayed on the Michigan ballot and/or campaigned in Florida. This whole thing is ridiculous and outrageous. That said, again, whatareyagonnado? Certainly not change parties and vote repug! Surely you jest! So I will indeed be gritting my teeth as I vote for Edwards or Dodd. ...Unless...come on, Gore!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know he is accomplishing a stellar amount and quality of stuff as private citizen Gore, but think how much he could do for the climate as leader of the free world. If he would stop and ponder that, surely there is no way he could NOT run...right? And surely he has stopped and pondered that, and continues to stop and ponder it...right? Right! So the man is running, that is all there is to that!

I have spoken!

I am anti-abortion too, but think that should be the choice of the mother without any interference or legislation by the government.

And .... RP is definitely NOT an anti-constitutionalist.

You are right , though. People DO need to learn about Ron Paul .... especially IF Al doesn't run.

But Ron Paul would not care if Roe V. Wade was overturned and sent to the states
long as his state made it illegal

The only way that works is if you are free to travel to another state, however, most zealot states will make it a federal crime to cross state lines to go to another state, therefore, causing poor girls/women in those states to either break the law, have an illegal abortion, get butchered for life, get murdered by a butchering, while rich people can travel to NY Los Angeles, Paris, etc and do as they choose.

That makes it a punishment not equal for everyone, which would seem to me to be anti-American, anti-Constitutional
And the poor as always are the losers. Why should $$$$$ be the deciding point of this or any issue?

Why pro-chioce people forced to abide by anti-constitutionalists when abortion is legal? Why in the name of not killing, do anti-abortionists murder doctors?

The Paraclete - October 26, 2007 10:42 PM (GMT)
ReelectGore...I am also against abortion, but I DO agree with you that the government has no business in making such decisions. THIS is a 'moral' issue best handled by the CHURCH and THEY have done a 'poor' job at best. I find MOST Right To Lifers are also against young adults being introduced to 'contraception'...something I am in STRONG FAVOR of!...We can NO longer just tell teenagers that sex is a sin...that it causes disease...and a pregnancy they MIGHT NOT WANT!...That is wishing on a star and hoping our young people just WON'T have unprotected sex... :bad:

But...and I KNOW Rev Wally will agree...we can't have the government condoning using abortion as a viable option...I say the government should stay completely out of it...as soon as the government becomes 'involved'...all it DOES do is open a 'can of worms' that will end up with US taxpayers funding abortions for illegal aliens as well...

I don't want Roe v. Wade overturned...but I also don't want it elaborated on as well...Government should STAY OUT of the Abortion Business altogether!...As for the 'poor'...well start handing out condoms & Norplant and tell these people that if they cannot support a family on their own then they shouldn't expect to government to raise them either! (Look at it this way....would you want BU$H raising these children?) :bad:

Now on to Ron Paul...I didn't SAY that I was GOING to VOTE for him! I said, he was the ONLY one on the GOP side besides Huckabee that I could ACTUALLY RESPECT! Ron Paul has been the ONLY candidate so far that I have heard that makes it clear that IRAQ is an 'illegal' war that should be stopped!...And THAT is WHO I am looking for...SOMEBODY WHO WILL END THIS F#*@ING WAR!

So tell me! WHO on the DEMOCRATIC side has made ANY mention to ending the war in Iraq? :?:

Also Reelectgore, I may NOT like the idea of having Hillary Clinton as the DEM nominee, but if she IS then I WANT somebody she CAN BEAT!...Anyone on the GOP side that would perpetuate IRAQ...I want to LOSE! If Ron Paul can make Hillary Clinton a WINNER! then I am all for it! If I have to hold my nose to vote then I WANT who I VOTE FOR to WIN!!!! :good:

I WANT AL GORE, myself, but if he WILL NOT RUN then WHAT to do? AL GORE is the ONLY ONE I KNOW CAN BEAT ANYONE THE GOP PUTS UP! :!:

Al has the Nobel Prize, and is loved and recognized world-wide! He is known as both an innovator and compromiser! NOBODY has a BETTER grip on FIXING what BU$H damaged better than the LPOTUS(Legitimate President Of The US)...Millions of Americans would vote for him just because he IS the Anti-BU$H! "He who was denied deserves the throne more than anyone before him"...
