Excellent news on the Michigan priamry front: Gore would need just under 13,000 signatures before 10/23/07 to qualify for the ballot. With his name recognition, his popularity in Michigan, and his money and eager volunteer group, obtaining that number of signatures would be relatively easy. He could probably enter on 10/16 and still cobble together the minumum number of signatures.
Just out of curiosity: if Gore declares his intention to run, can't he just file? Why would sigs be necessary?
The deadline for filing without petition signatures already passed on Sept. 11
There should be a new thread about filing dates for each and every primary
Would be interesting to know the dropdead date
Also-the dates for independent candidates(3rd party) to get on the Nov.08 ballot
(for Bloomberg/Gore-08 or Gore/Bloomberg08, should that come to pass)
Someone running will need to be on all 50 states in Nov.08, not to mention for debate purposes too.
