Former vice president Gore likely to endorse a candidate before Democratic primaries begin
Former Vice President Al Gore says he will probably endorse 2008 Democratic presidential candidates. And it will not necessarily be Hillary Rodham Clinton, the wife of his former boss, former President Bill Clinton. "Uh...no," the former vice president told 02138 magazine when asked if he feels "some obligation" to endorse the senator from New York. "I have friendships with her and with other candidates, and they're all on equal footing at this point as far as I'm concerned," he said. Gore said several candidates had called and visited him to seek advice. He declined to name them. In the interview, Gore again declined to completely rule out a presidential run next year but said "it doesn't feel right at this point." He also said he doubted he would ever completely rule out a return to politics in the future.

If Gore has not ruled out a run in the future, he is getting ready for one. What else could he say at this point? He knows that it is now or never.

Gore has been asked this question before and has said the same thing. What else should he says? He is not going to show his cards until he is ready.

I'm biased and want to think that Al Gore will announce next month. But there's nothing to prove otherwise. What's he going to say? Exactly ;) If he says 'no', then why not? If he says 'yes', then who's it gonna be? By saying 'most likely' he can leave the door open to run and also keep people paying attention to the issue he is there to discuss.
