Title: Why can't a poster delete her/his own post?

hangingchad - August 27, 2007 05:51 PM (GMT)
Hello:

I posted something in what I thought was the appropriate forum, but then afterwards I realized that there was an even more appropriate forum, so I wanted to move my thread. I realized that there was no "delete" button for my original post. I cut and pasted my post to the new thread, but had to leave my original post in the wrong forum, with the content changed to just say something like "moved post to correct forum, sorry".

Is there a way the options could be tweaked so that a poster could delete her/his own post? Or is it this way on purpose so that, once there are one or more responses, the original post must remain? Mine didn't have any responses yet.

Anyway, thanks for your consideration of this issue.

:)

Every member may delete his/her post, but not topics they start. That must be done by moderator or administrator. You may request a topic to be deleted or moved to a different forum. Hope this helps. :)

Thanks, that does clarify things. And it makes sense.
