This is totally off topic, but I just wanted to bump the porn thread until someone gets the hook and yanks it off the stage.
Here's a link to some great background music for life in general. It's Jimmy Buffett's Radio Margaritaville station. Concert replays, live coverage of his concerts, and other similar artists who he likes and who've inspired him. Commercial free and just plain free. If you have Sirius you get this, but I have XM so I have to listen on-line. Try it out!!
http://www.radiomargaritaville.com/listen_now.htm(I still miss the "By the time we got to Woodstock..." thread on the old forum.)

Thanks, Reverend Wally. Y'all continue to teach me how to use all these buttons. Still, this forum is easier for me than the Draft Gore site. It's nothing personal. I just don't like their format.

This Wednesday lots of hippies old and new will celebrate the 38th anniversary of Woodstock. It took place on August 15-18th 1969 in Bethel, New York, 50 miles from the "real" Woodstock.

Breathe In, Breathe Out, Move On
------Jimmy Buffett
(Jimmy Buffett and Matt Betton)
I bought a cheap watch from a crazy man
Floating down canal
It doesn't use numbers or moving hands
IT ALWAYS JUST SAYS NOW
Now you may be thinking that I was had
But this watch is never wrong
And If I have trouble the warranty said
Breathe In, Breathe Out, Move On
And it rained, It was nothing really new
And it blew, we've seen all that before
And it poured, the Earth began to strain
Pontchartrain leaking through the door, tides at war
If a hurricane doesn't leave you dead
It will make you strong
Don't try to explain it just nod your head
Breathe In, Breathe Out, Move On
[Guitar Solo]
And it rained, It was nothing really new
And it blew, seen all that before
And it poured, the Earth began to strain
Pontchartrain buried the 9th Ward to the 2nd floor
ACCORDING TO MY WATCH THE TIME IS NOW
Past is dead and gone
Don't try to shake it just nod your head
Breathe In, Breathe Out, Move On
Don't try to explain it just bow your head
Breathe In, Breathe Out, Move On

So, if you're just hanging out at your computer right now, put on RadioMargaritaville in the background. It's only available on-line and for those who have Sirius.
I emailed a request and dedication. I doubt they'll play it, but you'll "get it" if they do.

I just had to bump that porn thread until someone erases it. I'll play my Gore theme song again.
Hoot Movie Soundtrack Lyrics
Jimmy Buffett - Good Guys Win
(written by Mac McAnally and Roger Guth)
So you're looking for a hero
That you can see with your own eyes
When they don't wear the mask and cape
They're hard to recognize
Even though these are cynical times
Bear it in mind
Good guys win
Every once in while
Full grown men
Get to learn from a child
Now and then
Just when you think it won't happen again
The good guys win
Trouble all around us
Dirty tricks at every turn
Seems that we historically
Refuse to live and learn
You start to wonder if all
Hope is gone
You would be wrong
Good guys win
every once in while
Full grown men
Get to learn from a child.
Now and then
Just when you think it won't happen again
Good guys win.
State of confusion we're so disillusioned
You turn on the news and
Good guys win
Now and then
Just when you think it won't happen again
Good guys win
Every once in while
Full grown men
Get to learn from a child
Now and then
Just when you think it won't happen again
The Good guys win.

And how I'm feeling right now......
Trying To Reason With Hurricane Season Lyrics (Jimmy Buffett)
Well, the wind is blowin' harder now
Fifty knots or there abouts,
There's white caps on the ocean.
And I'm watching for water spouts
It's time to close the shutters
It's time to go inside.
In a week I'll be in gay Paris;
That's a mighty long airplane ride.
And now I must confess,
I could use some rest.
I can't run at this pace very long.
Yes, it's quite insane,
I think it hurts my brain.
But it cleans me out and then I can go on.

The Rock and Roll Gods have never let me down yet! :good:
I have tickets to the 4/24/2008 Bon Jovi show in Nashville!
Good seats too, would have been blessed to get nosebleeds seats, but got club level, but then again, scoring tickets in Nashville is something I have a PhD. in!
Anyway, recently we saw, (My grandson and the family), we saw Bon Jovi on 2/14/2006 with the Prof Gore in attendance! We saw him again at Live Earth, again with Prof Gore in attendance. I hope he is again with us on 4/24/2008!
I postulate that my Grandson is Bon Jovi's most loyal young fan in TN? I had to tell him that we were planning to give him a Laptop for his birthday, but that we could not do that and go to see Bon Jovi because of the expense. We had been saving for that Laptop most of the year and trust me this all A's great personality child deserved it! (When Prof Gore interviewed us at our apartment in College, our 3 1/2 year old grandson played games on the computer while Prof Gore set behind him on the couch!).
Anyway, I brought it up to him in the car on the way home from school and as usual: as I do way too often, I went into this over-explanation of every possible angle to consider about this decision, etc!
You know, stuff like---well a Laptop will last you, you can watch DVD's, you can play games, learn the keyboard to type and on and on and on---and then the counterpoint of But Bon Jovi is one night and gone, but he may never return? ETC?
You have seen him so ya know the show etc, and on and on and on.
WELL FINALLY I came to a point where I paused for air and he asked---"Is it my turn to talk now Oompa?"
Well, I realized I had done it again as usual and I said---YES, it is your turn to talk now!
He leaned over real close to my face and looked me square in the eye and said:
"OOMPA, ITS BON JOVI!!!!! :good:
I adore this child!
He tells me how a very few children have Laptops and they play games at school on breaks etc? I said, well you could too at breaks? He said they go online though Oompa. I said sternly, "well you are never going to be allowed to go online without us around for quite a few years yet!" He said he knew that and that was fine, he was just telling me. I said "their parents are wrong to allow it in my opinion!!!" :wtf:
I guess I have infected him with irresponsibilty in choosing a concert over something that could last, but I sure am not perfect and I bet Prof Gore would understand???
I wish I could take all of you with me! ( I used to buy the whole row in the good ole days when tix were $7, $9, even $15!)

If I agree with you Blueraider then I'm showing my age.
I remember standing on the bow of a ski boat in the Mississippi River watching Buffett perform on Mud Island. (Who even needed a ticket then? I found other ways to get in. :coolwink: )
And, doggone it, people used to flick their Bics instead of holding up their cell phones.

Hendrix at Woodstock was on TV tonight. What an artist!
oleblueraider - November 30, 2007 04:18 AM (GMT)
Just 5 more months until Bon Jovi!
I would like to say that I never had tickets for this long in advance before, but the Eagles cancelled a show on us once and re-scheduled it for 9 months later at an outdoor venue, so this isn't our record for such a thingy, but it is second place!
As far as I know, only Garth Brooks fans and Bon Jovi fans can sing every word and chorus to every song at their shows????
Now I know Bruce fans sing a lot of his songs, but not all of them! Doesn't seem to be a thing the Stones fans even do. Everyone sings Hey Jude with Paul.
Is there someone I am leaving out that the fans sing all the songs with the artist???
Oh yeah, never got to see Hendrix, but my first rock concert was Janis Joplin in Knoxville and what I recall that impressed me then and now later was that she drink a fifth of hard liquor onstage, but I cant' recall now what brand it was??? I used to know? She could then and now drink me under the table. You couldn't even tell she had a drop in her performance either!

Well the fans didn't really sing with him but they did help B.B. King along at the Crossroads Guitar Festival on Public Television last night. But they only clapped and then only because B.B. forgot the words to the song. As he said..."I'm 83 years old and that's what 83 year olds do, they forget the words."
Enjoy Bon Jovi

Southern Comfort
:)
oleblueraider - November 30, 2007 05:08 PM (GMT)
Southern Comfort, YES that was it!
I started to say it but I wasn't sure so I didn't wish to be in error. but I thought I recalled it was Southern Comfort!
Uh, well I don't know that song TNblue but I love a cheesburger in paradise, unless of course that is the song in question.
Now I have forgotten Buffet as a party experience and I have never chosen to go and I know it is a great show for those fans!
I know Hank Jr is a great show and I actually know him in a way from before he was Hank Jr? He lived near my 1st cousin and uncle for a few years and went to entertain at her wedding. What I recall vividly was his 1965 or 66 Buick Gold Riveria lined with Silver Dollars. As around a 12 year old, I was calculating IF I took my pocket knife and cut them out of the interior, well One door was a $100, one seat was about $75, etc, etc.
I also assume that the old Grateful Dead shows were great, but I doubt they were complete sing alongs? I know Prof Gore was a die hard Deadhead as well!
So many stories from Music City to bore folks with!!!!!! It used to be a small community! In fact, I was blessed to introduce my grandson to Charlie Daniels last Saturday at Church and thank him having Vol Jam 7 and 8 for me personally.
He told an anecdote on George Thorogood at the show and then my grandson came home and watched him on YouTube! (If I hadn't introduced him, my grandson just thought he looked like Santa Claus?).

| Hendrix at Woodstock was on TV tonight. What an artist! |
I hope this doesn't give hangingchad a heart attack, but Jimi Hendrix (Jimmy James) is another of the older musicians I have done shows with in my youth before he became famous. The list of musicians I have actually played on stage with and done shows with is fairly long.
I also have known some very famous actors and movie producers too. That is something that happens when you share the entertainment profession with them. I did sound for Red Skelton too. LOL
Many people don't know that I also was a baseball nut, and when I was in Jr High school in Clearwater, Florida, I trained (unofficially) with the Philadelphia Phillies at Athletic Field, Green Field, and used to sit in the dugout with them and have played in scrimmage games against other MLB teams at Jack Russell Stadium in Clearwater.
Bucky Walters used to coach me some as a pitcher, and I was sort of buddies with Solly Hemus, Stan Lopez, and others. Mayo Smith was the manager of the Phillies at that time.
There was a world class, and world champion softball team in Clearwater back then called the Clearwater Bombers. Herb Dudley was a pitcher for them, and he was also my Boy Scout Troop Master, and Sunday school teacher at a Methodist church, I think located on Howard Street or Avenue in Clearwater. I used to catch warmup for both Herb and for Ed King, another of the record holding softball pitchers of that era. Herb Dudley was one of my phys ed coaches in High School at CHS, and I used to spend Phys Ed catching him warming up. You should experience a softball coming at you at about 90-100 mph. LOL
I have had a very interesting life but have never been lucky financially.
While in Nashville, I had the honor of many "star" musicians regularly coming to see and hear me play in bars and clubs in Nashville. Among those were Bucky Barrett, Hank Corwin, and Phil Baugh. Pete Mitchell (Texas Troubadours) was a very good friend of mine and we played together many times. The list is very long of the people I have had the honor of rubbing shoulders with.
I did sound for the Johnny Paycheck show which was done at the Chillicothe, OH penitentiary, and Merle Haggard was on that show too. Billy Don Burns was the producer of that, and Steve Singleton was involved too. Johnny Rosen (Fanta Sound (WW and the Dixie Dance Kings sound for that movie)) did the recording at it.
Oh well ... I guess I will stop reminiscing and patting myself on the back. LOL

We saw Dave Matthews at Live Earth. I had high hopes for him?
My son was very interested in him too.
He concluded that Dave was really good, but not as good as we hoped.
Perhaps we have seen too many greats or perhaps a generation gap has set in.
He was good, very professional, but the crowd at that show didn't sing along????
