Here is a great piece:
http://www.politicalcortex.com/story/2007/8/7/14390/79515It goes to the truth of the situation that most of the "experts" arguing against the idea that global warming is a.) happening, and/or b.) human-induced are not really arguing on the basis of scientific evidence or even just their own honest opinions: they are corporate mouthpieces who want to maintain the disaster-hurtling-towards status quo. They either don't realize or don't care how short-sighted they are being. What good is a profit if we aren't here to enjoy it?
I know there are a lot of intelligent, thoughtful people buying what these, as I term them, "flat earthers" are saying, so I just want people to realize that they aren't saying what they are saying out of any sort of honest scientific or otherwise debate. No, they are saying what they are saying because they have a financial interest in doing so. Period.
But again, what is so ironic about that is that we are all in the same boat, literally. The boat is called planet Earth. And if we put short-sighted profit margins above respecting and protecting our boat, we are all going to sink, the rich and the poor alike.
We have got to move to more sustainable energy and respectful ways of acting in relationship to our earth. And maybe when start behaving respectfully towards the earth, we will start behaving more respectfully towards each other and becoming a less violent species in general. A gal can dream, can't she? But meanwhile, just getting to that first part, behaving more respectfully towards the earth, would be a massive, profound accomplishment. I know we
can do it. I pray very hard that we
will do it.
