Title: Thoughts on site mission and guidelines
dbciii - July 28, 2007 04:29 PM (GMT)
It seems like there are quite a few threads started that stray away from the "Al Gore Support Center" basis of this site. While most certainly the transgressions of the current administration are topics that Gore himself addresses in "The Assault on Reason," I'm not sure that polemics bashing bush do anything to "support Gore."
There are plenty of sites out there in which to do that. I think it is important that visitors to this site find a positive, informational, supportive site stressing the positives of Gore, his contributions, and values. It is more important to add to the groundswell of support - to achieve that 'tipping point" at which he decides to accept the nation's plea to take charge - than it is to "rag" on the various grievances we have about what is happening to our government, our country, and our planet.

While this is a very logical approach to the intent of this forum, it must be kept in mind that educating each other and discussing associated points in relationship to the reasons we need Gore should also be addressed and considered.
Perhaps a section entitled "Thinking Outside Of The Box" would be a good addition to this forum.
I percieve that the post was made with my postings in mind.
I will say that I feel that I am a 110% Al Gore supporter, and I believe that what I am 'guilty' of posting is relevent to what we are trying to achieve and recover from.
For instance, I think the abundant availability of our national documents is a very important point of educating a person that really is in urgent need of posting. This is not even taught or made available in a majority of schools any more.
Also, there is a mountain of evidence that indicts a complicity in the 9-11 attack. To ignore that is to be in a very dangerous position of denial and supports an 'enabling air' to treason that happened on that tragic day.

In addition to my post before this one ....
I have looked, and it seems that the posts that are outside of the box are all in the proper threads and fall within the thread topic agenda

I don't see anything wrong with 'Bush bashing.' We all know he more than deserves it. As you know there is a Bush-Cheney regime forum on this site, which is for Bush Bashing and exposing the lying evil thief for what he really is. I feel it's very important that people are kept informed how evil the Bush Administration is. It's not something that should be brushed under the rug and forgotten.
I will never get over stolen election 2000 and NO, it's not something that should be pushed aside and forgotten It boils my blood that someone as despicable and evil as George W. Bush has been able to get away with all the crimes he's commited throughout his life, not just the past seven years.
Yes this is a site to support PRESIDENT AL GORE and as a total 1000% AL GORE supporter, I want the whole world to know how evil Bush is and how much I hate him, because it's the truth.

While you might be right I don't think so since we would not be in this mess if the 2000 election had not been stole and Al Gore was now President as he should be.
But to avoid any conflict I'll keep my postings to my website. After all, it would only take another attack on US soil, staged or not for this President to declare martial law and then there would be no election in 08.

I was not - repeat NOT, trying to censor or suppress. I am plenty vocal about the bushcheney regime in many places, spend time in conspiracy discussions, etc.
My only point was that since some people come here looking for Al Gore information, or to debunk a slur against him, etc. the "image" that a newcomer sees can have a big impact. And it is, after all, even though the site has no connection with him, a site with his name on it. As such I feel like we "represent" him to some people, and I would want to represent him well. Just a thought.

Exactly and well said!!!! And let's remember that the stolen 2000 election and despicable shrub junta directly affected Al Gore, which DOES mean that it is on-topic to discuss same. This is an Al Gore support site and the shrub administration is, in many ways, Al Gore's nemesis. Therefore, I for one will continue to speak out against the junta early and often.
Al Gore is also a patriot and defender of the constitution of the United States and the rule of law. Those of us who support him tend to share his thoughts and feelings on that. Therefore, we must speak out against shrub and his junta because they have consistently, from the moment they stole the election in 2000 until the present day, acted in ways that assume they are above the constitution and the rule of law, and in so doing they threaten the fabric of this country every day. I know this is important to Al Gore and it is important to me and all the Al Gore supporters on this site. It should be important to every patriotic American.
It is certainly a fitting subject for this site.

I disagree that it has to be "either/or". I think it is, as a wonderful college professor I had once would say, more of a "both/and" case. It is certainly important to discuss all the positive, visionary ideas Gore has, yet it is also important to continue to expose the shrub administration for the country-and-planet-ruining junta that it is. Both are important, both are relevant to this site's mission. And both present a face that I am proud to show to newcomers.
