Title: The war for oil
Description: link to article now included

I have spent all day collecting sources for an article that will show to those who doubt that this unwarranted war in Iraq was for no reason other than Oil.
It had nothing to do with WMD, the alleged connection to Sept. 11, 2001 or our National Security.
I hope to have the article finished by late tomorrow but it will be too long to post here due to the number of sources and the detail involved but for those interested in reading it I will let you know where you can find it.
Link is in next reply

I cut the article down as much as possible without losing the points that needed to be made but it is still too long for this forum.
As promised I have posted it and for any who wish to read it you can go to:

This is really an excellent article, al001. Thanks for giving us the link. Maybe you could even post in in the Bush-Cheney section of the forum.
"Amy Goodman...: U.S. Backed Oil Law Is “Robbery” Details the inequity and greed of American Corporations contained in the law. “The proposed oil law facing the Iraqi cabinet would allow Western oil companies to take about 50% of all production as their share, an "obvious robbery of the Iraqi oil," says oil workers union heavy. ...
"... In brief, there is hardly an article in the law that actually benefits the Iraqi people. But they all serve American interests in Iraq. And we know well that the law was actually written here in the United States, with the help of James Baker and Ms. Rice ... And it serves the interests of the American government and not the Iraqi people. ...
... “Even as Iraq verges on splintering into a sectarian civil war, four big oil companies are on the verge of locking up its massive, profitable reserves, known to everyone in the petroleum industry as the prize."
That's it in a nutshell. (Th-th-th-th-that's oil, folks).
Really good job, al001.

Thank you whybaby, that was very kind of you. I had though it too long even though I cut it considerably. I will post it in Bush-Cheney.
One thing everyone should keep in mind. I will put the publications, authors, titles and direct quotes in bold type as I did in the article linked, my desk is much like a 5 year old's toy box so if you want the entire articles I used you will have to look them up. I have misplaced the links. Just ask EM, I have to re-mail a package that was returned because of a missing number on the zip.

I checked out your topic and could barely hear it but I do agree we are facing an oil crisis.
My question to you is just how much time do you think Al Gore has to devote to the numerous problems of the world?
And even more important. Knowing this was coming why hasn't the Government and the Large Oil Companies attempted to come up with an alternative, Brazil has and in short time. There are other methods that have been out for many years but as long as one drop of oil remains that the oil companies can profit from they will give only token attention to an alternative.
