***Live Earth adds DC show to global event***
. . . the all-day "Mother Earth" concert will be held on the National Mall at the National Museum of the American Indian - about two blocks from the Capitol - as part of Saturday's concert series focused on climate change. The headliners are Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood. "A couple of the global warming deniers tried to deny it with parliamentary maneuvers," he said. "The cavalry didn't come riding to the rescue; the American Indians did."

Corzine & Gore teaming to protect the earth
A New Jersey bill becoming law today is being called the most ambitious in the nation. It requires the state's Department of Environmental Protection to develop a plan to reduce greenhouse gases to 1990 levels by 2010. A crucial piece of legislation is being signed this afternoon around 1:30 with former vice president Al Gore and New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine.

Gore defends Live Earth, self (with video)
The former vice president says Live Earth is exactly what it's being billed as: a 24-hour, seven-continent succession of concerts Saturday to draw attention to the threat global warming poses to the planet.

If Al Gore doesn't run
Al Gore could be our next President. Or Al Gore could pass. If he walks away, we all lose. We need to respect him for his decision and then, it will be up to us to fix the system that is so broken, the right man doesn't want to run in it.

I support Al Gore's three year plan for our planet
. . . this way will be the best way to bring about a political mass not only in this country and abroad to force leaders globally to see that this is not something they have a choice in doing. This is now something that must be done in order to preserve the continued sustainability of our planet in order to be able to sustain the human species and all other species.

American conscience waking up to climate change
In the past few years, global warming has catapulted from a fringe issue to a mainstream one. The reason is not clear, but a few pivotal moments emerge.

First Live Earth reviews: Australia and Japan
It was like the opening of the Olympics, make sure you catch it on the net if they re-run it. It had lasers, giant globes, backlit neon outlines that followed the performer's movements and one more amazing thing. A holographic Al Gore. We looked closely, played it over as he made his speech, and except for the fact that he said he was there holographically, you could not tell, even as the camera panned around him.

Today's whiner . .

FOX's John Gibson wants 'equal time' to rail against global warming
Gibson argued that because former Vice President Al Gore, who is behind the concerts, is a prominent political figure who some believe might run for president in 2008, NBC was actually giving Gore what amounted to an in kind political donation if he decides to run.

Screw John Gibson. :bad:

John Gibson is among the Worst of the Worst. He'd be dangerous except for his ratings. http://mediamatters.org/issues_topics/sear...ing=john+gibson.

O'Rielly, for all the crazy bully things he says, is at least not a warming skeptic and has made a pretty strong call for energy independence. The problem is that he derails his own message...

Bruce, thanks for the your news links! Your summaries make it so much easier than googling and ending up on some fiction site like newsmax, dredge, or cns.
