Guys, I think each and every one of us Goristas needs to e-mail EVERYONE we know and tell them to tune in to the Live Earth Concert manana. Perhaps even more importantly, suggest that they sign the Live Earth Pledge.
I wrote and sent the following e-mail to everyone I know:
"For anyone who is interested in global climate change, please be sure to watch the Live Earth Concert tomorrow, 7/7/07. The following link contains info. on same, and I like the way the writer summarizes the point of the concert/describes the concert as being "a turning point in world awareness of climate change":

Even though it is largely symbolic in the sense that many of us who sign the pledge are already doing the things we are pledging to do, it is so crucial to send a powerful message throughout the world that there is massive, massive support for this green movement to reverse or at least slow down and eventually halt global climate change and hopefully save our beautiful and life-maintaining environment. Is signing a little pledge enough? Is it the total answer? Of course not, but it is SOMETHING. If a huge number of people around the world sign, it sends a very clear, powerful message to the powers that be around the world that citizens demand greener corporations, greener products, and a general commitment to progressive, cleaner, greener approaches to life on this planet. Signing the pledge is a good thing. Let’s all do it!!!
I think we live in a time when people believe their actions don't matter and/or can't make a difference. The reality is the opposite. Every action we take does matter. So let's start now by taking the Live Earth pledge. It's small, but it's a start."
I think we should all write, from our hearts, and not use the boilerplate copy/text that the Live Earth Pledge site will send out for you if you fill out the form on line. For one thing, using their on-line software, you can only e-mail the info. to at most 10 friends. Again, I think each and every one of us should e-mail everyone we know. But more importantly, I think it is a good idea to use your own words, speak from your own heart, and appeal to your friends to sign the pledge.
I never could stand Melissa Etheridge's music until I heard her original song in "An Inconvenient Truth". Now, of course, I LOVE HER *lol*!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, I think of the lyrics/the message of that song now, and I say to you: We need to move, we need to wake up, we need to change, we need to shake up, we need to speak out!
