G8 agreement on climate change a "disgrace" -Al Gore
Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore denounced a deal by world leaders on curbing greenhouse gases as "a disgrace disguised as an achievement", saying on Thursday the agreement struck last week was insufficient.

Al Gore brings 'Inconvenient Truth' to Athens
The lecture was held in two packed auditoriums at the Megaron Mousikis in Athens, one live and the other on video relay, and embellished with references to Thermopylae and Archimedes, as well as the most recent compelling evidence of global warming that has emerged since the release of the Oscar-winning documentary "An Inconvenient Truth" that was based on the original slide show - including fears of what he called a "tipping point" created by the release of CO2 currently frozen in the Siberian tundra and Alaska.

Gore speaks on environment in Italy
Al Gore said Thursday that he hoped to push the environmental agenda to the forefront of the 2008 U.S. presidential election - but probably not as a candidate."I don't plan to be a candidate again. I haven't completely ruled out that possibility, but I don't expect to be a candidate," Gore told several hundred people, including scientists and university students, at a Benetton-sponsored event organized around an environmental exhibit.

It was true on terrorism. And it was true on Iraq, where Al Gore holds the rarefied position of being correct about both Gulf War I and II.
