Gore in the News - June 11 & 12, 2007

Today's talk . . .

Al Gore continues to remain strong in the national polls
I did not really discuss the results of the polls because nothing really shot out at me as being any different from what we already knew. Well that was until I looked into the Al Gore polls and saw that he was clearly gaining support. He was consistently polling around 10% in January and now he is up to the high teens.

Bloomberg / LA Times Poll: June 7 - 10
New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton maintains a solid lead at 33%, followed by Illinois Sen. Barack Obama at 22%. Running third, with 15%, is former Vice President Al Gore, who continues to say he has no plans to seek the office he barely lost in 2000. Fourth is former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards at 8%.
ACTION ITEM: Article contains reader poll. Please vote for Gore!

Gore lobbied band to play Live Earth
If you saw the Red Hot Chili Peppers whispering to Al Gore when they accepted their Grammy Award for best rock album in February, that's the moment they committed to playing Live Earth.

Best ideas for fixing America? Listen to Gore, Bradley.
He doesn't say so explicitly, but this older and wiser Gore knows that once he entered the race, his big ideas on climate change and other serious issues would be overwhelmed by a tide of celebrity freak shows and silly discussions of whether he is too brainy and fat to be president.

First off, thanks for providing this concise Al Gore in the news service, an outstanding contribution to the board and I for one am impressed by the effort. Kudos!!!

Second, I vote in the action item poll (again a great idea and an example of the sense of better organization I am getting from the Draft Gore effort) and here were the results. Wacky, eh? Gravel and Kucinich beating Gore? Very odd numbers.
