I have an idea that can be built by anyone kept and reused for ANY event .... !!!!!
Each local area, group, or individual that can get this together, could then use this for any event within driving distance.
:construction:
Find someone who owns or has access to, or perhaps use your own either a medium sized flatbed or pickup truck or utility trailer.
Make a sign frame out of Plastic, Sheet Metal, or any "wet" environment outdoor compatible material.
This can be made in such a fashion as to be removable and easily mountable. (On a pickup truck I would suggest fashioning the frame so it will mount with the entire frame of the sign supported and attached to the truck level with the rim of the sides of the truck bed.
Use whatever means your group can afford to make the sign with [DRAFT AL GORE 2008] slogans, or graphics or a combination of both and can be made to look much like a billboard.
( Some ideas -----> Painted sign .... Cloth, Canvas, or other pliable material with your mini billboard painted or printed (Use your imagination))
Size would only be limited by the size of the truck (Did I really have to say that !!!!)
A group or concerned individual could find industrious ways of using this idea to do a mobile moving campaign sign and could make several, depending on funds availability, to saturate and area or various events with.
This would be much cheaper
and have much more longevity
than "Renting Per Use".
AND .... The sign could be changed in the future to support an official campaign
Here are some ideas where your mobile signs could be driven by or parked at where you have expressed permission from the owners or the property rights to do so:
1 .... In your yard or lot on blocks (or locked down some way) visible to all passersby in between events.
2 .... Use the vehicle with sign to shop at the mall (If it is a normal street vehicle)
3 .... Circling major sporting events, downtown or mall areas or anywhere there happens to be a crowd gathering for any reason
4 .... Park it in plain view somewhere on your business property
