Former Vice President Al Gore is harshly critical of President Bush in his new book, "The Assault on Reason," in which he claims that "the current White House has engaged in an unprecedented and sustained campaign of mass deception." In an interview with ABC News, Gore goes one step further on the war in Iraq, calling it "the worst strategic mistake in the whole history of the United States."

What happened to the Time/CNN Poll?On Friday afternoon Time (Time.com) put a poll on their splash page asking "Should Al Gore run for President in 2008? After a few hours, and with almost 5,000 votes counted, the results were about 65% 'Yes' / 35% 'No' - Gore leading in all but four states. The poll suddenly disappeared and hasn't been mentioned since. Curious.

"And the decision was made as you know by a 5-4 vote on a highly partisan basis by the U.S. Supreme Court, so I would say in 2000, there was a failure."

http://americaabroad.tpmcafe.com/blog/morg..._to_participateWanted: Reasonable people to participate... Gore is right when he says, "It is too easy - and too partisan - to simply place the blame on the policies of President George W. Bush. We are all responsible for the decisions our country makes. We have a Congress. We have an independent judiciary. We have checks and balances. We are a nation of laws. We have free speech. We have a free press."
