So what did Alter have to say?

Well, I'm watching the repeat now and my heart just stopped for a second when Olbermann said that Al Gore might run after all..........then to commercial. More speculation coming up I'm sure, but I loved hearing that!

The only thing I found interesting was Alter saying the same thing another Newsweek reporter (Richard Wolffe, I think) had said earlier in the day on MSNBC. He said that an 'insider' with Gore's inner circle had told them that the chance of Al running had increased over the last few months from five percent to ten percent.
EDIT: The transcripts apparently won't be online until Monday.

5% to 10%, eh? Pretty funny to put it in those terms.
But I'll take every 5% I can get!
