Global warming issues will never be an economic issue until it turns into a big business. Until large political parties such as Democrats and Republicans see that it is a big moneymaker, they simply won't get on board. People are always so caught up in solving their immediate problems......and with the war and oil prices taking a premium out of us, we can not, with the responsibilities and commitments to our families, do any more.
I made a commitment to the environment as a child. I even wrote Nixon on Hydrogen fuel as a solar derived, alternatative fuel for automobiles. (Make the Hydrogen from solar and nuclear generated electricity, release the oxygen to the atmosphere, and burn the H2 in the autos) Never really got a good response (duh!). So, the best that I can do now, is to maintain my employment in a green energy industry, and that is Nuclear Power. Al Gore actually did the same thing I did when I was on the USS Pargo (SSN650): we took trips to the Arctic for research. Currently, I bide my time at the nuclear power plant, trying to fill the job as a supervisor, in an effort to keep the thing running. So, my point is... I am committed to this environmental thing, and I have evidence that can support Al's position. I just need to sit down with him for a couple of days in the sunshine here, in my back yard, and we could put away a few Mai Tai's (I learned in Hawaii how to make the best ones ever) and we could solve all of this. I just need someone like him to put the knowledge into a plan. (Fast, we are loosing time with you just going around talking to groups) So Al, have the computer master dig up my number (it's a cell phone) and/or email me, and we can talk.
