Contrary to a story that was originally posted here about Al Gore's villa in Italy being burglarized and the real First Couple losing $35,000 worth of stuff, the Chicago SunTimes reports that the story was not true:
http://www.suntimes.com/output/sneed/cst-nws-sneed10.html. . . former veep candidate Al Gore sends word via an emissary that a report in our former sister paper, the London Telegraph, about his villa getting robbed during a recent trip to Italy is not true. He was in Italy. But nothing was stolen. Whew!
-------------
We won't mention the fact that Gore isn't a "former veep candidate," but rather a former PRESIDENTIAL candidate . . .
But beyond that, why do stories like this make it into the papers in the first place if they're completely fabricated? :?:
