Contrary to a story that was originally posted here about Al Gore's villa in Italy being burglarized and the real First Couple losing $35,000 worth of stuff, the Chicago SunTimes reports that the story was not true:

. . . former veep candidate Al Gore sends word via an emissary that a report in our former sister paper, the London Telegraph, about his villa getting robbed during a recent trip to Italy is not true. He was in Italy. But nothing was stolen. Whew!

Thank goodness this was not true although things like this happen everyday.
Where did they get this from? Was it a slow news day and they just decided to make something up?
Just goes to show that you can't always believe what you read.

Another thing. I don't think he even HAS any security for himself..he sometimes has a few aids but I really don't think he employs any security but I may be wrong.

He has some security I do believe. However, when I see him here in Tennessee, he is by himself.

I just wish he had Secret Service protection.
He probably knows when to use his security. Perhaps when he goes up north or to larger cities.

He was ticketed for speeding though recently, wasn't he??
