It was harsh slap of reality when I read on Jan. 24, 2007 on CNN.com that 50,000-100,000 children, as young as 5 years old are being used to accomodate the Pedophile market in Cambodia. Many of the pedophiles fly in from the USA, for this purpose. We cannot consider oursleves a great nation until we fulfill our moral obligation to all children that are suffering in this most horrific unspeakable manner. When a child's own people fail to protect it, don't we have a moral and ethical obligation to intervene? Doing nothing is the same as participating in the abuse in my opinion. These children are being raped and tortured daily as the world calmly ignores them. Global warming is of the utmost importance, but protecting a child from unspeakable sexual abuse is at the top of my list. What could be worse? I would rather be dead than go thru what they experience repeatedly.
