I want to make you aware of one thing. Many Americans may not opt for “Green” energy due to the fact that the power companies require them to “pre-pay” for “blocks” of green energy.
As you know, Americans are in the habit of living and paying “retroactively” for everything. If the power companies would “bill” for this service (one month retro) the same way they do for regular energy, then more people would participate.

Good point. Not sure what we can do about it, though. Perhaps as green energy becomes more acceptable and commonplace, this will change.

Right. And as I informed my conservative Gore hating husband (he DOES have a lot of other GOOD qualities...) that I signed us up for renewable energy a funny thing happened. 1. He did not know what renewable energy was. 2. His first question was "so what do we get for our $6/month?...energy?...I thought that is what we were already paying for, so why the extra $6? I explained how until legislation forces businesses to adopt more environmentally supportive practices, we, the consumer will have to foot the bill. To which he responded...3. Do you have ANY idea how MUCH money Souther Company made last year?! I finally told him that his $6 is buying him a slice of marital harmony :laugh:

Believe me. I have tried EVERYTHING within my power (and I have alot of powers :coolwink: )
Husband is just one of those people who refuses to accept a new idea until he trips over it. Then he shrugs it off and has a new idea. You can never tell him that he is about to step into a bucket of wet cemet..
That is why he married me. Since I came into his life...his papers miraculously get filed, rooms miraculously get painted, meat just happened to disappear from the refridgerator, an AL Gore meetup group just happens to start up in our town. Things just happen :Y:
BTW, karen, I am going to do start the meet up group tomorrow. Ironicly enough, I have been covered up at work busily writing a biodefense grant.

I'm SO glad to hear that, Amy. I was going to write you another letter tomorrow to find out if you were still going to do it, so I'm glad to know that. I'll be checking meetup.com, as I do regularly, so I'll know when you've registered. At that point, I'll send you all the support and materials you need.
