Title: New poll puts Gore well behind Hillary and Obama

earthmother - November 13, 2006 01:10 AM (GMT)
A recent poll asks who your preference is for the Dem. nomination: PollingReport.com.

31% Hillary
19% Obama
10% Gore
10% Kerry
6% said Edwards

I'm getting really annoyed at this Obama bandwagon. Don't people know how to think for themselves, or do they just allow themselves to be carried away on whatever the flavor of the month is?

I still have on those rose colored glasses and hope that when and if Gore makes it more apparent he will run he will shoot above Obama and Hillary will free fall. As I said, just a hope, but one I will hold until the very last second.

I think the problem is starting to be that Al is taken as someone who actually is trustworthy, and everyone keeps THINKING they are hearing him say he isn't running, so they believe he is sayiing that (and the right wing sure don't want him to run,)so on these polls they go on to people who have said they may run

Obama actually did say he has changed his mind and people have heard it

Hillary, not being trustworthy, says coy thngs and no one believes her.
That is how people think at the same time she is liberal, moderate, conservative

Hey, its like Paul McCartney and the really little things he did that are creating such gossip in his divorce.
If it had been anyone else, no one would care, it wasn't that major.
But Paul cultivated this goody goody image that everyone is shocked he would get into an arguemnt with his wife and maybe says a curse word. (ooooohhhhh).

Sometimes honesty is not the best policy

Might be some people would say Al was the flavor of the month when the movie and the Time cover came out, and he said, no no no no no and they believe it.

Interesting. IMO, Gore has too much substance and integrity to be a flavor of the month. But for those who don't feel about him the way we do, I suppose it's possible, and I see what you mean . . .

I not really surptised at the numbers.
Gore has mad no intentions know and he is on the poll. If he would of annonced and this poll was then taken, you would see Al Gore far ahead of the rest .

What really pisses me off is that anyone with any sense knows that Hillary or Obama cannot win in 2008, for the obvious reasons many of us have posted several times. When will people wake up and realize we need AL GORE and he is just about the only one who can win???

These polls are getting kind of annoying.

Just for the sake of argument ( or perhaps mischief :o )

If you know that Hillary and Obama cannot win, and you believe Gore is not going to be a candidate, then what sort of respone would you like to see in these polls?

It's probably too early to even ask thiis sort of question but I confess to thinking about it :?:

I get your drift, Wayne, but this particular poll asks who your preference is for the nomination. I don't know if it's open-ended (i.e., you could say Mickey Mouse if you wanted to) or if they give you set choices. If it's open-ended, then I'd expect Gore to not do as well because people wouldn't think to say his name since they think he's not running but they think Hillary and Obama (and Kerry and Edwards) are. But if they give you a choice of selections, and Gore is one of them, then I don't like the fact that Gore isn't doing better.

I would prefer Gore's numbers to be higher as well. Among the committed Democrats who care enough to vote in the Primary, his numbers would soar if they got a whiff of hope that he is considering another campaign.

You could take it as a sign of how successful Gore has been in making Global Warming a moral, non-partisan issue. We know if "An Inconvenient Truth" had come out while the press was speculating about Gore re-entering politics it would not have been seen for what it is. It would have been viewed through the prism of political punditry. And Al definitely did not want that.

Or, maybe I'm just trying to put a positive spin on a low number
