Title: Republicans crawling with hat in hands

Now that it appears that the Dems. will pick up the projected seats in both houses, the Reps. are suddenly saying they hope the Dems. will work with them in a spirit of bi-partisanship. Does that make anyone else mad? They've had a strangle-hold on all three branches of government for all these years, during which time there's been no reaching across the aisle on their part, no working together in a spirit of bi-partisanship. All they've done is try to ram their conservative agenda down the throats of all Americans, with no attempts to be fair and no spirit of cooperation. So now, suddenly, since they're on the losing end, they want us to work with them and be fair? Yeah, I suppose we will, and I'd like the Dems. to show that they're better than the Reps. by doing what's right for all Americans, not just for their party.

But it sure does make a person mad to see them now suddenly say that they hope the Dems. will work in a spirit of bi-partisanship, after what they've done to us for so many years.

They belong on their hands and knees crawling since they've spent the last 6 years crawling behind Bush with there noses up his ***.

Doesn't it make anyone else angry, though? I'm not usually a vindictive person, nor do I normally hold grudges, but there's something about this situation that really pisses me off. After all the abuses of power they've committed, NOW they want us to play nice with them because they're on the losing end? NOW they want a spirit of cooperation and bipartisanship? Did I see them doing that while they were in power? Well, you know the answer to that.

Anger is not a strong enough word. It's much like the bully who spent the last 6 years beating up on the smaller children until they had finally had enough and struck back. Now that he no longer has the power he once had he pleads for the right to be their friends and com padre.

Yes mother. I am angry too.

Well, I guess we have to behave nicely now and keep our anger to ourselves. I do want to show America that we're better than the Reps., but I just can't stand watching McCain and Ken Mehlman and even Bush this morning saying that now we need to work in a spirit of bipartisanship and cooperation. Why do they think we owe them that when they couldn't work with us? Why?

We do need to show America we are better than the Republicans and we are. Work with them? As bad as I hate to admit it we may have to if we want to get anything done. After all look at how long it's been since congress actually accomplished anything other than talking points and fund raising. But we owe them nothing. They owe us a debt they can never repay.

And if I see Mehlman's stupid face again or hear that irritating voice of his my TV may make an unplanned trip out the window.

with control of BOTH houses....we could run anything we wish through up to the President. But in reality that just isnt going to happen. First of all there are too many differences of opinions on bills or what ever to get a majority to pass it without the support of the opposition. And if the dems are not inclusive to the pugs that HAVE been sent back to DC from districts... then they may in fact find themselves in that seat labled' obstructionists'
so the long and short of it has to be to try and be bi partison as much as possible but of course stick to your core principles.

I know they have to work together to make anything happen. That's always true, and it's the American way.

I just wish the Reps. had done that when they had a choke-hold on the entire government.

Yes, the republicans make me very angry, nothing new there. They still want it all their way, what a bunch of arrogant GD hypocrites.

But it sure feels great to see the republicans come up the big time losers and on the same day PRESIDENT AL GORE was robbed, November 7.
