I know we're just a week away from the elections and a bit early to talk about predictions but i wanna know from my fellow posters and EM can chime in as well as how many house seats will the dems win in NY and NJ.
NY has 9 house seats which are republican and NJ has 6 that are GOP,personally i think for us in NY we'll win 7 out of nine i doubt that Peter King will lose in his district NY-03 and the same for Vito Fossella's district NY-13,i hope the voters will prove me wrong so we'll see.
As for NJ i think they'll win 4 seats, the two districts that may stay republican are Jim Saxton's district NJ-03 and and Christopher Smith's district NJ-04.
I don't know about the Congressional races so much. I've got a great Congressman (Rush Holt-D), and he's generally well liked. I'm more interested in our Senate race.
Tom Kean, Jr. is the son of one of our more popular governors (one of the few times I crossed party lines was when I voted for Tom Kean, Sr. for governor). Tom Jr.'s ads have been saying that he supports change in Iraq among other things. But one of his ads accuses his opponent, Menendez, of taking kick-backs (a popular NJ politican problem  ). I haven't been able to find out the truth about any of it. Another of Tom Kean's ads says that Menendez supports giving social security to illegal aliens. Again, I don't know if that's true. If it is, I don't agree with that at all.
But regardless, with so much at stake and with it being so important that we take back the House and Senate if at all possible, I'm voting for the Dems. even if I disagree with some of their stands on issues.
One thing i forgot to post yesterday here are the republicans who's seats are up for re-election in both NY and NJ in these districts.
