Mark Warner's Clinton Problem

Posted on 10/13/2006 10:27:20 AM PDT by SDGOP

The former Virginia governor has decided not to run for president in 2008, saying he doesn't want to spend precious moments away from his wife and three daughters.

"This is the right time for me ... to have a life for a little while," said Warner, considered to be the only Democrat with any chance of taking on Hillary Clinton. But the man the New York Times declared in March to be "The Anti-Hillary" might actually have a lot in common with her husband.

D.C. insiders are speculating that his surprise pull-out may have been sparked by concerns that alleged past sexual indiscretions could derail his campaign—especially in the midst of theMark Foley feeding frenzy.

"I can't believe no one has mentioned his philandering," a former political aide tells Radar, adding that she herself was subjected to Warner's advances in the late '90s and had heard "stories about Mark and many interns."

"This can't be isolated. I have to believe this stuff is all over," a former D.C. consultant tells Radar.

"It would be ironic if the anti-Hillary faction's best hope turned out to have the same problem as Bill," the consultant said.

Without offering any credible evidence & often refers the sources as 'former political aide' or 'former D.C. consultant', this shameless, dispicable, appalling, far-right website certainly has no right at all to speculate unfairly on Governor Warner's decision not to run. By trying to smear a good man whose bravado, which should be saluted, in putting his ambitions aside for the good of his family, the far-right has gone too far. This is the kind of extremism we do not need in America. Absolutely shameless. Totally inhuman.

Yeah, well, it's a lot like what Chris Shays did bringing up Ted Kennedy and Chappaquidick the other day.

What it comes down to is this: Election 2008 is going to be one down and dirty affair. All the stops are going to be pulled out. No holds barred. Whatever cliche you want to put on it. It's going to get ugly. I hope the Dems. don't stoop to the same low tactics, but they're going to have to be ready to defend against the worst the Rep. machine has to offer.

Gentlemen and ladies, start your engines . . .

the funniest thing is, Hillary is going to be using all the dirt and don't think the Clinton machine would not "anonymously" pass info along to smear anyone and everyone who gets in the Clinton's way.

Of course, that is how people win, it seems

Just remember of course- Bill Clinton would have gone no where rapidly, had he not picked the clean Al Gore.

But these things show why most good people wouldn't be able to run for President.

Everyone who is human got something in their closet they would prefer not to come out.
