Title: Fundraising letter from Gore for the DSCC

Today I received a letter in the mail (I usually just get them via e-mail) with the return address of "Vice President Al Gore." My heart skipped a beat when I saw the big letters "Al Gore" in the upper left of the envelope, but then, of course, I quickly realized it was a fundraising letter.

I found it interesting that it said "Vice President Al Gore." I know former presidents and vice presidents keep their titles despite no longer being in office, although when they're introduced, they're normally called "former president" or "former vice president." Maybe that's not so in writing. I'm not sure about the etiquette of that.

But more interesting than that is the fact that Gore is the biggest draw for raising funds that the Dems. have. That wouldn't have been the case in the last Congressional races.

I will be sending in my check (another one), and I hope people all across the country do the same. It's critical that we take back the Senate, and unfortunately it takes money to do that.

If you get a letter, send in whatever you can. Even $5 or $10 is a help.

earthmother is as right as she can be. Even $5.00 or $10.00 is a help. Even a dollor will help if enough send it in. It is badly needed right now.

Yeah, I just got another one, this time from Ted Kennedy (last week it was from Bill Clinton) saying that we need six seats to take over the Senate and that the Dems. are ahead in six races, so it's doable, but they need $2.6 million to accomplish their goal, and they're $850,000 shy of that.

Please give, even if you have already. It's really easy to do online. Go here: https://secure.democratsenators.org/dia/org...nedy_VRD-RD.jsp

We need Gore in the White House, but we need to regain control of Congress, regardless of who ends up in the White House in '08. Please do your part. It's critical.
