Hi,
I'm looking for a videotape or transcript of Al Gore's 11/27/02 appearance on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. If you can help, please email me at: occlaude@hotmail.com.
Thank you,
HtownPsych
Did a little searching. Couldn't find anything. I imagine it must exist somewhere, though . . .
I looked and looked for over an hour last night, couldn't find a transcript or anything. I remember that show like it was yesterday. AL GORE was great but the other guests, I could have done without, Faith Hill and that old couple. They showed AL no respect.
Hi
First time user of a web forum so excuse any breach of protocols!
Just returned from seeing a documentary about Al Gore that was screened at the 2006 Galway Film Fleadh.
The theatre was packed out. Considering that it is a blistering hot day in Galway (we don't get too many days like this!), this is no mean feat. It goes some way to demonstrating the groundswell of support for a public figure that is prepared to tackle environmental issues head on.
On a personal level, the film deeply moved me. An active environmentalist (Green Party, recycling programmes, etc) I realised that there was a lot more to know about the destruction of the world through over-industrialisation and the population boom.
Gore's delivery of the facts was succinct and accesible. He has an almost effortless method of delivery that allows the audience to get inside the information that he is imparting.
While watching, I couldn't help but think of the huge differences that this man could make if he had won (?) the election that time. Nontheless, he is making a difference in spite of that travesty. Everyone in the theatre this morning was mesmerised by the non-evangelical nature of his delivery. It was believable on a human and individual level.
All of which begs the ineviatble question - when can we see Mr Gore making the delivery of his lecture in Ireland?
As Ireland has become essentially an industrial estate for the europe and the rest of the world, I think we need to have him here as soon as possible.
Mr Gore will be pleased to know the Irish people have already embraced a number of the recommendations set out in his plan to reduce emissions. To date, we are the leaders in Europe. For a small island, that's not too bad!!
Get here soon!!!!
