Draft HillaryAny thoughts on how this will be viewed as this effort is being started in Al's home area?

Very, very interesting. And I don't think it's a coincidence at all that they're doing this in Gore's backyard.
Of course, we have to keep in mind that the push is still a grassroots effort, not one organized by the candidate or with her endorsement.
But you can bet that Gore's people will be making note of this. The question is: What will they do about it?

If Al does not run, then something like this in Nashville is a smart move. It would appear from those interviewed as part of the article that the folks involved in this might be first generation or new transplants to the Nashville area. Old line Nashville will likely be less receptive to a Hillary candidacy, but our political environment seems to be changing monthly, so who knows.
I find it very curious that after Al's fantastic MLK speech JFK and Hillary have become more active. JFK made his Fanuil Hall Speech and Hillary is weighing in on the immigration issue. I think Al's media ascendancy in the last couple of months is placing a little pressure on those thinking of running. Still, I can't stop thinking I'll be working for one of my fallback candidates in 12 to 18 months. :?:

EM, just saw your "getting ready" post. Makes me feel a bit better. I am volunteering on an Arizona 5th congressional district campaign and our campaign manager is an ex-Gore staffer from 2000. If there is anything I can do out here in the Southwest for the AG-08/GSC efforts, let me know.

Don't give up the ship, Nicholus. And you bet we'll be contacting you when the time comes.
I, too, was encouraged that the gears are turning and there are things in the works. We really need to get our act together and not miss the boat this time around (sorry for all the nautical references--maybe because it's like summer out? ). In any case, we will need to mobilize at some point, and that's why I hope everyone here continues to monitor the board and keep current with what's going on. We're going to have to build this movement from the bottom up, and I guess it's safe to say that we're the bottom rung. And we'll just climb that ladder one step at a time, until we reach the top rung and celebrate a Gore White House in '08.
