Knight-Ritter has been for sale for several months. A sale has not been approved. In my observations, K-R was the most honest in both the run-up to and the aftermath of the Iraq war. Many of the print journals are in trouble. K-R could become entirely an internet-based news service. Their reporters, who have shown themselves to be of high integrity and motivation would possibly be happy to work in an environment where the company bottom line is not the overwhelming concern. If they are bought by a major medium, the current reporters would probably abe punished for not touting the party line. A single blog doesn't have eyes and ears all over the world, K-R has access to these. It's a good opportunity; is a grass-roots stock campaign outrageous?
Yes, they're good . . . but buy them?
