And Hillary will have 8 years as Senator by 2008. In the #1 state in the nation.
With a popularity of over 70 percent.
And Obama won with over 70 percent.

What in the world has Evan Bayh ever done?He is the son of someone(like W), with no real record of his own, not to mention too rightwing. And he just had a love affair with John Roberts. Give me a break.
or mark Warner? Warner was lucky to win his term to start off with.

Hillary was elected in Liberal NY... End of story.

Obama was running against Keyes... End of story.

What has Bayh done???? Are you kidding me? Bayh has one of the best records i have ever heard about. I cannot think of any currently elected Democrat that has a better one. For a bit about why i think he's the one, Click here

Warner was lucky to win his term???? Yeah right. Let me educate you a bit about Warner. Prior to winning the Governorship, Warner ran against incumbant John Warner for his Senatorial seat. John Warner is a pretty popular Senator in VA. Senator Warner has won five consecutive elections to the U.S. Senate, beginning in 1978. This year, Senator Warner became the second-longest serving U.S. Senator from Virginia in the 218-year history of the Senate. Now in his 27th year in the Senate, he is privileged to chair the Senate Armed Services Committee, having begun his association with our men and women in uniform sixty years ago. Having said this, it was a damn close race:

John Warner ®- 1,235,744 53.5%
Mark Warner (D)- 1,115,982 47.4%

After that, Warner ran for Governor and won. Since then, Mark Warner has been an incredibly popular Governor. The Republican opposition is lucky he can't run for another term because he would easily win.

Gore's the one - September 19, 2005 08:14 PM (GMT)
Bahy's record doesn't amount to a hill of beans compared to Al Gore's record of accomplishments. Let's also not forget that Bayh also hid in his ivory Washington tower while Bush was stealing the 2000 election from Al Gore. That's sure nothing to brag about either.

Bayh has a decent record, but is still hampered by the perception that he got elected merely because of his last name. That happened to Al Gore btw early on in his career too. And make no mistake, Bayh is still early in his career.

I'd have to agree that Gore's record totally eclipses Bayh's, and think that most people would agree, but until Al declares he might be interested, you'd have to rate both as equal possibilities for the 2008 now...i.e. slim or no chance.

As far as other possible, I think that compared to say Hillary Clinton, Wesley Clark, Al Gore or even Barack Obama, Bayh would be a distant 5th on most people's radar screens...throw in John Kerry, John Edwards, and Howard Dean and he'd fall to 8th on most lists...now.

That might change, but at this point I think that Bayh would be a second or third tier candidate. Good guy...yes. Heavy hitter? Not really, at this point in time.
