In October 2003, Vanity Fair did an article about the FBI letting the Bin Laden family leave the country soon after Sept. 11th.
The FBI responded to the allegations, with a release of a report about the flights. The report was recently obtained by
Judicial Watch - the conservative public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption - via the Freedom of Information Act.
Don't ask me how exactly the report, dated September 2003, responded to an article that was published in October 2003, cause I'm as confused about it as you are.
Either way The FBI released the report to Judicial Watch late last month. It's titled “Response to October 2003 Vanity Fair Article (Re: [Redacted] Family Departures After 9/11/2001).”
You can read related documents and Judicial Watch's Press Release Here:

As for the section titled "Vanity Fair Issues"

Why is the privacy of the Bin Laden Family more imprtant than the American Public's right to know about the aftermath of Sept.11th?
And why did they even bother redacting this when it's so obvious?
