Sen. Ted Kennedy has already announced his pick for the 2008 presidential race, and it's the same candidate he backed in 2004.
Asked if he'd be climbing aboard the Hillary Clinton bandwagon, Kennedy told ABC's "This Week": "I'm from Massachusetts. And we have a candidate, I think, probably up there as well."
Asked specifically if Sen. John Kerry had his support for 2008, Kennedy said: "Oh, yes. ... My man's John Kerry."
And what about Mrs. Clinton?
"I have enormous respect for Sen. Clinton," Kennedy said. "I admire her, I respect her. She's qualified for whatever job she achieves."

We need a big name person to come out and back Gore for 2008. Lets write to Mario Cuomo and others who called for Gore to run in 2004.

I can't believe Kerry's really going to run again. But it's no surprise that Teddy Kennedy's backing him, being as they're both from Massachusetts.
But isn't it awfully early for this kind of thing?
Edit: Oh, I just saw that this is from Newsmax. Not worth much, then, is it.

It was real. Kennedy was on ABC or NBC this morning as a guest and said it.

Well, like I said, it's no surprise. And I suppose no matter who ends up running in '08, if Kerry is in the race, that's who Kennedy would endorse. They'll sure have the monopoly on that Massachusetts liberal thing. :P
Garden Stater - March 7, 2005 06:11 AM (GMT)
Does Kennedy think that'll help Kerry or something?
I mean, it wasn't more than half a year ago when Bush repeated a hundred times "John Kerry's the Conservative Senator from Massachussetts compared to Ted Kennedy".

The biggest problem I have with Kerry is his connections to the same tiny secretive organization that George W. Bush belongs to. I am speaking of Skull and Bones, What little I know about them is that they graduate 15 men a year, they just recently had their first woman, and there are only 800 suviving members total, this is less than my high school. There symbol is what pirates used to fly, there are many of them in positions of power the media, the judiciary and the like. They have a secret oath to support their group, I recall that when JFK was elected, it was news as to where his ultimate loyaties ly with the pope or the U.S., now with this secret organization nobody in the media seems to care or think at the very least that it is a story. Now think about the odds, out of a total population of aprox. two hundred and ninety million people, subtracting minors would probably bring it down to two hundred and twenty million, that both major party candidates came out of a group of aprox. 800 people, I could imagine how the press would treat it if both candidates came from my high school. On top of all that I believe Bush's daddy and granddaddy belonged to Skull and Bones, if Kerry were elected President in 2008 that would mean 3 out of the last 4 Presidents came out of this tiny group of 800 indivduals, that smells funny to me. I would like to see that math genius on that new T.V. show calculate those odds. :?: :?:

If Kerry runs then they can't say Gore shouldn't run because he already has before. But will Gore go up against Kerry and/ or Clinton? He might just be disgusted with the whole process. Of course I hope he doesn't feel that way and does run and beats the pants off all the competition.
Biden voted down an amendment to that travesty of a bankruptcy bill that would allow elderly people who have catastrophic medical bills to keep their homes. He's from Delaware, where most of the credit companies are from. He is a traitor to the people and he has no chance of getting the nomination now. He might as well be a neocon as far as I'm concerned. To me it is worse than voting for the war...at least they can say they were duped on that account but with this...its declaring war on working people, taking away the last and only line of defense against the usury tactics of these credit card corporations. Nothing is going to stop them now..they won't try to work with anyone now. People are at their mercy.
Young people who post here. Do NOT take out a credit card!
Got off subject..sorry.
I know about the Skull and Bones thing...been around the block on that issue so I won't weigh in on that one.

After reading the new article, I've lost almost all hope for Gore unless a big name really urges him to run.
How about Al Sharpton?

Kennedy only says he will support Kerry "IF" Kerry runs.(although he cannot stand Bill Clinton and has no love lost for Hillary. On the other hand, this move can also be one to stop any other non-Hillary, non-Kerry candidate right from the start, and basically hand it to Hillary in the end, fixed style.)
Doesn't say Kerry is going to run.
If Al Does not run, it means it is a given for Hillary.
In the last poll she got 30 percent, Gore 20??? That will mean if Gore is not in the next poll, she will have 50 percent.
And this race will be over.
wonder if the same thing happening to John McCain (the threats) have already started against Al? (and coming not just from the republican side, but the clinton side?)
With all the shady stuff in both the Bush and Clinton camps, it would serve us right if Al does not run and we are stuck with one of them again. Sometimes I wonder why we bother in the first place.
In the end it seems we don't matter to them anyhow. Yet we are the losers and it is starting to appear as the fix is in.

You can't assume that everyone who voted for Gore in the poll would switch over to Hillary if Gore's not in the next poll. I, for one, would not vote for Hillary in such a poll, and I'm sure there are many others like me. Hillary's numbers have been hovering around 30% regardless of who else is mentioned in any of the polls. I expect it would remain about the same.
Also, to say the race will be over . . . what race? The race hasn't started yet. Hillary hasn't announced she's running. In fact, she's been saying she's NOT running. Of course, no one seems to believe her. And Gore hasn't announced he's NOT running except for what we heard through Chris Matthews, which may or may not be true. But 2008 is a VERY long way off, and anything can happen between now and then. The race can't be over if it hasn't even begun.

Don't let Richard Mellon Scaife's (the guy who is often referred to as partly behind the attack machine that made things so difficult for Bill Clinton) Newsmax have that affect on you. :)
They're just Right-Wingers, nothing more nothing less. :good:
