Title: Cheney gets booes at Yankees game

LeftistIndependent - June 30, 2004 06:16 AM (GMT)
Excerpt from article:

"Cheney, who visited both clubhouses after batting practice, watched part of the game from the box of Yankees owner George Steinbrenner and part from a first-row seat next to the Yankees dugout, where he sat between New York Gov. George Pataki and former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani. Cheney was booed when he was shown on the right-field videoboard during the seventh-inning stretch.

But mostly it was a night of cheering in the ballpark. "

Cheny didn't only get booed at the stadium; I'm sure he got many boos from people watching at home! My family (die-hard Yankee fans) was watching the game, and when we saw Cheney, we all started spontaneously booing and blowing "Bronx cheers" at him (aka "raspberries," depending on where you live). You know things are pretty bad when the Vice President gets booed at a ballgame. Yankee fans tend to be pretty good-natured, so for them to do that, you know something's wrong.

Also, Chris, I tried to use my great powers as a moderator to go back and edit the error in Leftist Independent's subject line, but I couldn't get at it. I could edit the post if I wanted (but I didn't), but not the subject line. ???
