Nixon was written off after he lost to Kennedy in a close election in 1960. Eight years later Nixon won. Who is to say eight years after the close election of 2000 that Gore couldn't win:

PRESIDENT AL GORE {I still call him that because he still is to me} is NOT finished, the republiTHUGS just want you to believe that because they know that AL can kick their lying thieving butts out the door in 2008. They are afraid of the best. And they also know they can not get away with RIGGING election again in 2008 if AL is in it.

Apallingly my aunt just told me that she thought Al Gore was washed up in politics. Luckily for us she doesn't know what she's talking about. She said people in his home state won't even vote for him. Untrue! Tennessee, to my great shame and chagrin, is by and large a Republican state. Always has been and always will be. I'm so sick of people saying Gore is finished. He's only just started. And I firmly believe he could take the White House in 2008.

Gore won in 2000. It was Bush who stole the electon by illegally blocking the cunting of many thousands of uncounted votes that Florida law required be counted.
